Trees lined the bank on the left, with open farmlands/fields just beyond. There was a gap in the trees midway down this pool and something there catches my eye.

I see what I can only describe as “A Praying Mantis Man”. Walking up the bank away from the river and looking at me over its shoulder. But it is not fully materialized– but not quite transparent– I would imagine something like the alien's cloaking in “Predator”. But because it was above me by several feet with nothing behind it and just open sky, I saw it clearly for a bout two or three seconds before it disappeared.

It was tall. About six feet. And I got the distinct impression by it's expression that it was amazed and even frightened that I was even in the water. Like it was not fond of water at all. Maybe came down to the bank to gape at me and my boss.

Anyway, I have been looking for other stories of “Praying Mantis” Men ever since, and this is the closest/only I've found.
