When talking about how there could have been past advanced civilizations , one host suggested that even our current culture could be wiped away in a matter of hundreds or thousands of years. But you're forgetting one big factor that separates our civilization from past ones-- OIL! Our structure mainly based on petroleum products which do not degrade, so although buildings and metal items may decay, there will likely be a lot of plastic junk around for ages.<br>However, that could be the reason we dont see obvious evidence of ancient advanced cultures- because they built from materials that decomposed.

This was a really great episode! I especially loved the artical about the 200,000 yo metropolis in South Africa. I'm not sure why, but the ancient civilization/alternative ancient history stories always get me super excited! Keep up the good work.
