Elaine Douglass of MUFON sent out an email to members on 2/4/2010 which included an alleged purchase contract between Bigelow and the MUFON board to purchase MUFON lock stock and barrel for over six hundred thousand dollars. The email claims that after Bigelow paid a little over half of the purchase price agreed, he ceased making payments (after gaining access to all of MUFON’s confidential files). The email missive gave this link for further information:

I have been a Ufologist for over 41 years. I never desired to have anything published or have any noteriety as a ufo expert. I have always wondered how much further along with my endeavors had I had access to financial backing. My interest has been motivated by strictly personal reasons. You can't be a serious ufologist if all you do is travel the world and lecture about what others know about ufo's. People may know as much as I do about ufo's however I have little doubt that anyone knows more. Regardless of your research, one can only go so far with your investigating. All roads lead to where I stand now. They are real. They are here. The government is doing the right thing by not making a public disclosure. In it's present state, this planet cannot yet handle the truth.

Interesting article, to me it sounds like a publicity stunt. By purchasing the website (for a tiny $800) they get their name out around the large UFO community and friends. Which is important for when they finally launch their space hotel.
