There is, however a very strong psychological pull on the user from the drug, and therefore LSD addiction becomes more and more likely as more of the drug is consumed, and the user wants to re-experience the alternate psycho-physical world to which the LSD allows them access.

Great show. The shadow people story was insanely creepy...I'm not sure if it was the actual idea of shadow people, or the fact that the story had an undertone of repressed abuse.

Loved the bit about dreams as well. Someone told me once (and I can't find a source to back up this statement), that cow's milk has protiens that make it very addicting to young calfs. However, in humans, when the protiens (I'm assuming lactose) are broken down, they cause chemical reactions like those associated to drugs- such as mild euphoric feelings. However, in some individuals (such as those who have low tolerence to lactose), these euphoric feelings can be overwhelming- such that they cause individuals to have altered moods/emotions, and sometimes hallucinate. I don't know enough about protiens/lipids, but it's interesting to think that milk could be the new LSD.

PS: Are you going to be expanding the site (outside of Facebook)? You may want to consider a forum type layout (I think I've heard people mention you use to have that). It would be a great way for people to discuss the pod cast, post articles, links to interesting things from their areas, even new music. Looking at your following on Facebook, it seems that you have a large fan base that are fairly active!

Hi,

I went through Chris Holly's blog to find the original story and to check out some of the comments...this might help you in your search! If you come up with something please let us know! As one of the commenters said, this should be very easy to verify with old newspaper articles and even police reports!

Can you point me to the Long Island link?

I cant find one of us on this Island who has ever heard of this story. We have your basic Mt. Misery, The Amityville Horror (face it, his deamons were drugs) and a few bits n bobs. But nothing on the Yeti from Long Island??

I have talked to people older than me and younger. It seems Jr. Lic was a late 70 thing, but was gone by the time my sister and I got our freedom passes.

A lot of holes in that story. 9-11 calls are all recorded by the way. If a police report is on file, it is also on file in Albany!

Long Island is suburb and farm. Mostly now suburb but in suffolk county farms. But yeah McDonalds in just about everytown.

The story reads like a johnny everybody horror story.

We had a good laugh at work. Which is priceless in its own. We all talked about the Amityville horror and the who what where when of it all. Brought us together!

Ben-i think I have some people on the hook for MU+ I have informed them I am not allow to keep sharing. lol

Cool show, that story about the thing terrorizing those girls sound like it could be the plot of some freaky horror movie.

I remember a while back that I say a documentary about various death rituals that humans have and one of them was something like the re-birth/death experience. I think it was somewhere in South America where you needed to find yourself a grave spot then dig it out yourself. After you would be berried alive for a period of 12 or 24 hours (cant remember exactly...or it could have been 8). Naturally there are air holes for you to breath through but its said that when you come out your a completely different person, for the better.

Not sure if I could manage for the whole time but it could be interesting for the first few minutes.
