We brave the heat in our tiny Sydney studio to bring you another delectable selection of news and stories.

Things kick off with Ice Age warnings for Europe, Alaskan Bigfoot encounters, and tales of Green Skinned children. We then move into the new work on the Antikythera mechanism, human hibernation trials, and feats of super strength.

  • For anyone interested in the "Tulpa" phenomenon I recomend 3 different books by Nick Redfern. Mainly "Three Men Seeking Monsters" which discusses his theory, based on his experiences, that many/most/all 'monster' sightings can be explained by some tulpa-like phenomenon. It's really good. Also there are 2 follow up books he's written on the same basic subject. They are "Memoirs of a Monster Hunter" and "There's Something in the Woods".

The Mayans also had a creation myth based in mud. First round was mud, but failed. Second round used trees, failed again and due to their idiocy(?), the gods washed them away with a "rain-storm". Third round used corn-dough and it amounted to what we all see today. Parallels are all over the place! If you really want something trippy to think about, check out the staggering similarities of Tibetan Buddhists and The Hopi people.

PS. Did ya know that Dragonettes vocalist also worked with basement jaxx? Totally different way of singing though. It's cool.

How do I download the Dragonette song? I'm looking for the exact same version and I looked on iTunes and YT
  • Just follow the link in the show notes. It takes you to the Danger Danger blog which has a direct Mp3 link on their page.

love the show, hibernation bit, gnarly. the tupok(sp) segment, cant find it in the show notes. the world of thought is given weight similar to that of reality in kabalah....the idea goes one step further than see no speak no hear no....but also think no evil....this power of thought is also given weight by shamans and kahunas...kahunas have a believe that you create you own reality changing the world around you through just thinking it....beautiful isn't it....clawing desperately to find someones research to validate both the world of speech and thoughts effects on reality for a term paper a came across Messages from Water, Masaru Emoto...I would not try to make a low level spirit...especially without a tradition to do it...the witchcraft books i used to read talked about making observers out of your soul....one specifically cautioned against making animal observers because they get free and out of control...that segment was awesome love the stuff on ancient history too...keep them coming

I'm also very interested in the segment about creating reality from imagination. I usually don't read the show notes so I was really disapointed that I came on here to find more information about the one subject that was not covered. Overall though great show. Please post more information about this missing subject though. I heard it as torpor but since I'm not sure what the word was it makes doing my own research extremely challenging.

You beat me to it shadowisp. I just got a pair of surround sound earbuds, and the opening song of this podcast sounded incredible with them! I wanted to log on and comment today particularly on how great the music and sound effects are, especially with good listening equipment.

Hey Spook.... what earbuds did u buy? Am always looking for new earphones with good sound...
  • Spookchild
I have the Philips SHE5910 Surround Sound earbuds. They aren't really expensive or anything, but they really sound great.
  • Thanks for noticing. A good pair of cans can go a long way ;) Our audio quality will improve when we move studios, which is happening very soon.

Just got my first decent pair of headphones and I definitely have to agree with shadow and spook!
