Micah Hanks joins us on this week’s long play to discuss his brand new book Magic, Mysticism, & The Molecule: The Search for Sentient Intelligence from Other Worlds.
Our discussion runs parallel with Micah’s approach in the book, exploring other worlds from these three distinct, yet interrelated conduits: Magic, Mysticism and finally, the Molecule.
Expect tales of occult ritual, strange magical devices, out of body encounters, DMT trips, and more. Take a deep breath as you enter the Psychomanteum.

Hey guys, good work. glad i got premium.
Great episode, found the synchronicity with regards to the ayahuasca issue interesting.
So great to hear MU again! Just like old times! Yay I'm so excited, but bummed that I have been missing out on the comeback… BEN you were gonna e-mail me about doing video work for you when you started back up…. Are you cheating on me with other video artists? ha ha ha I still hope I could help in that department if you need me I'd love to… Keep up the good work guys sounds great!
I found it interesting the mechanical themed trips with DMT as opposed to the more “organic”/jungle imagery with ayahuasca. Perhaps the preparation of the drug contributes to the type of trip. DMT prepared in a lab would cause more machine/lab type trips whereas DMT from a brew of vines would cause a trip that's more about plants.
Great show!
Excellent show! Micah's interview was VERY interesting! What a refreshing, well-researched and documented book/interview. The sensory deprivation experiments was extremely interesting! I'm going to go check amazon right now!
I've ordered Micah's book, and I can't wait for it to get here. It is definitely right up my alley. I also went ahead and ordered “Contactees” since he said it made a great companion work to his own. They should be getting here this week sometime!
Nice! They really are fantastic books.
