Re the smudging of structures on the moon photos: if there were super tall structures here and they've been smudged out, where are the shadows? Look how black the shadows in the craters are. If there were tall structures in these images there would be large and dark shadows. The moon surface beneath these supposed structures doesn't appear to be smudged or erased at all, so where are the shadows? No shadows beneath the smudges to me says no structures there to begin with, at least not going by the photoshop smudge theory.

A comment on the Chupacabras story.
It's interesting that the blogger comments on this industry- that it's hard to be taken seriously and there's a lot of "ridicule" ... but you can't help but see just cause when doing 'research' so poorly. If they want to be considered science, with scientific and credible findings, then they must be held to the rigorous standards of the scientific community.

Don't get me wrong, there are A LOT of credible people out there doing GREAT scientific reserach on the paranormal and cryptozology (Micah and the LEMUR project are a great example), however, because this field is plagued with hoax, cons, and tampered evidence, you're going to be held up to such a high standard to produce scientific evidence....

It's a shame...because 10 years is a long to to devote to one single research project. And to present your findings in such a way, really doesn't do your hard work just. Like you said, if they simply would have reworded it to justify the use of only 3 dataset/base comparisons, that'd be fine...

Alas, one step back..

Another Brilliant Podcast gents. With regard to the exploding head syndrome, this is the first time that I have heard of it referred to by this name but I am pretty certain that what I experienced falls into this category. Very late one evening just as I was falling into what had all the promise of being an excellent deep sleep I was jarred bolt upright by three very loud knocks. I first thought that someone was pounding on the door but when I turned to see my wife's reaction she was sound asleep. I found this peculiar because she is a very light sleeper so surely if the knocks woken me they should have also woken her. I came to realize that this very loud and clear sound was entirely inside my head and that shook me even worse than the idea of someone pounding at the door so I immediately went to the computer and searched "Three Loud Knocks". The first results were far from reassuring as these recounted folklore which indicated that hearing "the three knocks" was a sure sign that you would soon die. I didn't like that idea very much so I continued searching further until I found some scientific research on this subject which had determined that this was a rare but natural experience that occurs in some very exhausted people at exactly the point when they are entering REM sleep. There were no conclusions stated about what causes it but that was good enough for me.

Now on the subject of the new leader of the flat earth society I think you are missing that this is all about making a statement in a very clever way. If the article you read about him had been written with a slightly different slant it would be more obvious. This is what the article really says "Some nutcase has revived the Flat Earth Society and this is no joke he his very serious about this and truly believes that the earth is flat. He says " If we see it it must be true." By the way he also believes the official story of what happened on 9/11 and is convinced that man made global warming is real."

Hey guys, great show. I just wanted to make a quick note about your second video about the bases on the moon. The man who claims to have worked at langley Air Force Base said that he was an "Airman Second Class". I'm a Staff Sergent in the the US Air Force now. Knowing Air Force history is part of our promotion process. I did some research and the rank of Airman Second Class was changed on 19 OCTOBER 1967 to Airman Second Class and was no longer used in any ranks. Now the first US mission to even reach the moon was the Ranger 4 in 14 SEPTEMBER 1959. I really doubt that one of the lowest ranks in the Airforce would have been allowed to have access to this information. If so, he would have never said anything about it for fear of being charged with treason at those clearance levels.

While listening to the section on "Cities of Transparent Gold" I recalled that in his book "Transformation", Whitley Strieber described a vision he had while waking one morning. (This was during the time he was writing "Communion".) He described a vision of flying over a Golden City and goes into great detail about the streets and buildings. Near the end of this vision he sees a special building and has the feeling it is the place where the truth about mankind is known. Curious, huh?

Nightmares! I wouldn't say I enjoy them, but they do seem to leave more of an impression than other dreams. Other dreams I tend to forget. Perhaps scaring us is the brain's way of making sure we remember a particular dream?

One of the scariest dreams I had was about a New York City earthquake. I was walking down 42nd St. near Bryant Park (it's a small park near Times Square). It was warm and sunny out. Everyone was wearing spring/summery type clothing (no coats). All of a sudden 42nd street rippled like a huge 20 foot wave. It was like the black street pavement developed the fluidity of water. I remember thinking there was no where to run as I was surrounded by tall buildings that might soon collapse. That freaked me out. Here's hoping those long dormant faults near the city stay dormant.

Hi Guys,

Great podcast - yet again i am impressed!

Just a gripe about that snake ><.

Why hasn't the specimen of the snake been supplied? Why is it with all these captures of so called giant animals that the corpse of the animal isn't supplied for verification to researchers etc.

I am sure the local wild life rangers would love to hear of a GIANT SNAKE. Yet no corpse is supplied.

The Chupacabras "Study" sounds to me like the hobby of a not so scientific amateur scientist. 10 years? To submit a piece of hair and a tooth? Against a database of cats and dogs? If anything the result of the test is INCONCLUSIVE. Yet again cryptozoologists, when met with defeat, lie about their findings so as to keep the public interested. This works against legitimate researchers studying unknown animals. It also rings a bell, there was a sassquatch find last year that ended up being a suit in a freezer, after they had ditched the press and ran off with thousands of dollars.

I agree with Ben on that one. Well covered guys! Good job pointing out that the animals tooth was only run against cats and dogs. I am suprised they didn't run it against Reptiles, Mammal etc to see what Class of animal it was under.

Sorry for the bitch fest guys, keep up the good work /endrant

So let me get this straight. You refreshed your Plus+ feed, the episode was not there, then you logged into http://plus.mysteriousuniverse.org, then refreshed your feed, and the episode appeared?
