This poor Isley woman is seriously troubled.

Given the controversy over Hopkins and his affiliate Jacobs over the past year, the validity of any claim made by this woman must be scrutinized to an even greater level of detail. To the listener like myself, it appears that this woman is easily led to believe just about anything that is injected into her brain. I am sure that something happened to her, but by definition, military personnel are “trained” to obey orders, believe their superior and question nothing. Planting such an outrageous story in her head, would not be a stretch for someone trained in mind control. However, why would a military officer dress in his/her uniform when conducting the “experiments” she claims to have undergone? If these are top secret, would it not make more sense for them to dress and civilians? Her bizarre story is likely complicated by the fact that she was outed in a documentary against her wishes.

I always find the malevolent/benevolent debate with regards to the UFO/abduction phenomenon rather interesting, but I think there are holes in both views and I hope someone will engage me here.

Malevolent: If there are genuinely malevolent ETs, entities, whatever, with some malevolent agenda, why are they messing around with abductions and testing; if the intend to do the human race real harm, why don’t they just bring it? Are they just too far away and this is simply an advance recon mission? What seems more likely (assuming the truth of any of it), is the inter-dimensional theory and these encounters are bleed overs; they have superior tech, but can’t come in force. And while I’d like to believe Don Rumsfeld is a reptilian, I don’t. That they are actually djinn (whatever they really are) seems more plausible.

Benevolent: It’s a nice fairy tale, and speaks to our desire for a better, safer world, but these assertions simply entail too much speculation. Again, assuming this is true, if they intent to help us, then help us. Otherwise, bugger off.

I’m inclined to think, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, that almost anything is possible, but most approaches to ‘paranormal’ happenings, events, etc. is simply too clouded by fuzzy thinking. I do, however, think MU strikes the right balance, which is one reason I enjoy the show so much.

I think the most likely explanation of the malevolent/benevolent questions is that neither is really the “truth”. As you said, if either is the case then do it already. Why the hold up? The fact that they haven’t leads me to think the following:

    1. The interpretation of the actions taken by any being are up to the individual abductee or contactee. It seems much of the time the beings involved are simply just too caught up in their work toward whatever end to care if the human thinks they are mean or kind. If you were a species on the brink of extinction (which I recall hearing about some of the Greys) wouldn’t you do what is necessary to ensure some sort of survival regardless of the ultimately inconsequential harm you might have to cause? We take great personal offense to such harm but in the grand scheme of things it is probably nothing of note.

    2. Some beings encountered may have a chip on their shoulder because of their work. Suppose they don’t have a choice either and doing what they do, though required, brings them nothing or is seen as low in their culture. This could lead individuals to be hostile towards some or all of our species while their culture as a whole remains indifferent. Like one of us becoming jaded by being stuck because of socio-economic status in a difficult or stressing blue collar job. (And who can’t imagine inter-species racism? Look how much trouble we have getting along with our own kind!)

compare the The Dyatlov Pass Incident to the Mountains of madness by HP lovecraft.. i think The old ones are afoot. As far as American soldiers being patriots and wouldnt ever hurt he people they swore to protect, i suggest you check out some US history…

I even think YOU covered this before. http://open.salon.com/blog/rwnutjob/2010/02/10/us_armycia_spray_aerosol_lsd_on_french_town_in_1951…Notice the date. You dont need a deep black op team, soldiers do as they are told. What choice do they have?
    this is good too…

Does anyone remember, I think it was during the ’90s, all these people, in various parts of the USA, were claiming to be victims of clandestine satanic cults, drugged and taken to basements, witnessing all sorts of horrible acts (murdering of babies, etc) as part of ceremonies? There was never any evidence to support these claims (i.e. police reports of missing babies) except for the person’s memories which were uncovered with hypnosis. The MILAB story reminded me of those stories.

Re: lights in the sky as alien craft– to get here from even the nearest star, an alien craft with advanced navigational equipment wouldn’t need to turn on lights to find its way around. And presumably an alien craft doesn’t want to draw attention to itself (otherwise it could just land in any city) so it wouldn’t be flying overhead with lights on!

So…what if you take those genetically modified cows and instead of milking them, you grill up some delicious steaks or burgers. Are you now a cannibal?

Good answer. The basic indifference you suggest would explain a lot, especially the conflicting ‘experiences’; they have their agenda (which apparently doesn’t include the need to come in force), and it doesn’t have that much to do with us one way or another, except how we might further their goals. We’ve been at the top of the food chain for so long that we now tend to think it (whatever) has to be about us; I see no reason for them, whatever they are, to think so. In fact, they quite obviously don’t. As to your second idea, perhaps we’re the trash of the universe.

I wonder what would happen if a knowledgeable non-abductee posed as one and was then regressed by these people.

The Dyatlov Pass Incident, my theory: the military may have been experimenting with a psychoactive chemical which had been somehow released into the air. This caused the hikers to go mad and hallucinate and perhaps inflict the harm on themselves. Some of the strange physical attributes may have been side effects of the chemical? The physical damage and the severed tongue may have been self inflicted? They believed they were running from horrors of their imagination? Just a theory.
