Wow you guys really freaked my out with this one. Good job!

  • http://www.danielbenayun.com Danielbenayun

oh man this episode scared the crap out of me. Great work once again guys :-)

  • Red Pill Junkie

The former Catholic is me is screaming “Just call an Exorcist, dammit!!!”

  • Clunk

Lots of weird stuff in Western NY.  Theres giant bones and giant mounds everywhere (if you know where to look) to go along with all the ghosts and spirits!   You guys need to do a show on Giants !!!!

  • Spaceisland1

You mysterious guys, you. I almost died in my bed last night listening to this. I always loved this theme in your show more than anything else. In my opinion thi is the best episode ever or at least one of the classic ones.
If I ever manage to spare 9 dollars I’ll think of you first.
Keep up the good work, and stick to the dark atmosphere. I think that darkish atmosphere is your kind of brand.

P.S.Sorry for missused fords, I am foreign.

  • Scribble the Newsie

This was insanely creepy, and I love it.  It really makes you realize that the paranormal world isn’t as fun and innocent as it may seem.

Also…I agree with the fact that paranormal “reality” shows are awful.

  • Jack

The best episode (interview) this year by far. Loved it. I’ll be picking up that book.

  • Martin AKA paradoxchild

I really like this interview.O’Conner seems genuine for the most part. I have a sense that some of it was embellished or fabricated to sell some copy’s, but it was interesting to say the least.I would like to know what kind of ritual she performed, and why the hell did she not call the local Roman Catholic church? we are dealing with alleged demons aren’t we?! I was also wondering if she has the link of the voice recording and documentation that she claimed the police had taken of super human strength. The doctor paper work as well.I understand that this is a private matter but, a redacted version would help her,”experience”and sell her book, after all, incredible claims require incredible proof.– Cheers from NY

  • scootch

Indeed, Malachi Martin couldn’t have written it better.

  • Carney59

First, I love the show & think you guys are great.  Secondly, I respect the idea of her donating profits to the kid’s college fund (if that is indeed true).  Lastly, I have never personally seen a vision, ghost or anything ghost/demon related in my life & I dare anyone to provide video of any that would pass scientific or technical scrutiny. Something coming up with the conclusion of “unexplained” does not equate to proof. I have to call shenanigans on her story.  Without clear video, I believe its a hoax.  Great story though!

  • Sid

Cassidy seems like she wants to be in the spot light somewhat or else she would never have gone to NYC to meet with executives. Additionally, she seems to be garnering plenty of attention at conferences. You have to have some rock star in you to sell books though. Having a gift like that is a blessing and curse at the same time. On one hand you feel compelled to use your gift. On the other hand, getting known (slightly famous) for your work can be a burden. Still, it is just a story. It could all be a well put together lie. I suppose we will never know.

  • Aurora4919

I can tell you that there is no ‘drama’ in this story. If anything, this story is understated. Cassidy is telling what happened  very honestly and as a skeptic! Not only was the Catholic Church involved, the Vatican was also.

  • Martin AKA paradoxchild

Ok, thank you for your comment.I was just wondering if you are speaking through personal experience in the case? perhaps you were involved? (I’m assuming of course) or you just have the need to defend her story because your own convictions. Does it state that the Vatican was involved in the book? (I haven’t read it yet)

  • Aurora4919

I speak from personal knowledge. I am not sure that the Vatican was mentioned but I can tell you that I do know that every word is true and that Cassidy, very wisely left some things out. There is much documentation and I know this to be true because I have most of it.

  • Steven Y

I love you guys, but her story was hard to believe. Now if it is all true, I apologize. I’m not trying to cut anyones reputation, but just giving my opinion. She seemed extremely self absorbed and contradicted herself more than a few times. Just a few examples. 1. She wasn’t interested in being on tv, or in a Ghost hunting show. She’s supposedly very against it, but then she goes to NYC for the meeting anyway. 2. She’s afraid of highways, but her favorite city in the entire world is NYC. A lot of major highways there. So shes against the show, against being on major highways, but she goes to NYC anyway. While there she tells them they can kiss her ass if they think shes going to be on a ghost hunting show. Suddenly shes involved in filming the promo for it in a graveyard. She finds that very cliche, the graveyard thing. Okay, so if she isn’t interested in tv at all, or being on a ghost hunting show, at all, why did she go to NYC, why did she do the promo thing in the cemetery?  These things just seemed really out of wack in my opinion. Then, if I recall correctly, she said this was one of the most extreme cases she had ever been involved in. If I’m wrong on that I am sorry. I am not trying to misrepresent what she said, but that is what I remember basically being said. Well, one night shes at home, her bed starts shaking and goes 6 inches off of the floor and her husband freaks out, but she just tells him, Honey, it’s okay and puts her hand on him to calm him. Come on. I seriously doubt anyone being woken up from that experience, would be that calm and collected about it. And the bed raised off the floor 6 inches. Uh huh, what did she do, get a ruler to get that accurate? The interview ended up, on her end, being more about her, and less about her and the actual case and what was actually taking place and what they really did to solve it. If this story was true, then I apologize for not really buying it, but the way it was presented didn’t really leave me feeling confident in it all ringing true.

You guys made a comparison to the Dibbuk box several times in this podcast, and this has actually been on my mind for several weeks since you did the recap of the box a few weeks ago.  The house I used to live in for 8 years we experienced the exact same phenomena that is reported by owners of the Dibbuk box.  We saw things, there was a heavy anger in the house, doors would open and close by themselves, my wife and I and the children experienced health problems.  One of our daughters died of unknown causes while we lived there.  She was 9 months old.  There was an intense smell of cat urine in the house for most of those 8 years, except when it smelled like perfume.  In most cases though, I was the only one that could smell the urine or the flowers.  I scrubbed the basement with bleach one day because I thought it might be coming from there.  My wife and I saw what I realize now are called “shadow people”… my son was asked to leave his room, and was tormented every night until he moved to another room.

Similar to the case in this podcast, the neighbors seemed to all know that our house was haunted.  It would have been nice for someone to tell us beforehand.  Although I’m not sure it would have mattered.  When we visited the house with the real estate agent, my wife said the house wanted us, and it was “so inviting”.  Once the knocking on the walls started happening, and the rumbling upstairs when no-one was there, and the voices calling our names started we realized something was odd with the house.

We eventually moved, and the entire family was happy to be gone.  Just the feeling of relief to be away from the thick angry feeling in the house was enough for us.  I tracked down the new owner of the house, I have their contact info, but I’m afraid to contact them to ask if they’ve experienced anything there.

  • earthtone

I did enjoy the story, but feel can see what I often see in many musicians: the over compensation of humbleness when faced with the prospect of fame. That doesn’t mean her story has less weight, but it does give context to intentions.

  • http://welikesheepcomic.com Jared

Oh man, I’ve got goose bumps. Some people here seem to be complaining about the lack of specifics. Her unwillingness to share specifics on what she did makes her more believable to me, and keeping her personal thoughts on the nature of the evil is also compelling. She did mention to get to a church when experiencing this stuff at the end, which makes me think she was couching her personal beliefs for the duration of the interview for the story’s sake. She did mentioned the family was christian, I would have liked to hear how they handled the situation based upon those beliefs, since I can’t imagine it didn’t play a huge role.

Also, the fact that she went to the interview in NYC doesn’t say much. How many of you wouldn’t at least go through with that much to check it out, just out of curiosity. Is she on TV? No. That should be your answer. (Unless she is and I don’t know about it, then whoops… hah.)I kind of want to read this book, but another part of me doesn’t want to touch it, lol… She makes the argument that you should not pursue this kind of stuff, but isn’t reading her book exactly that? *shrug. Maybe it’s just a glorified business card for her. Who knows. Great show. =)

Hi Jared, actually my religion has changed drastically over the years.  Bit of a “seeing is believing” kind of thing… I have spent years studying religion and the backing behind it.  I have to say, now, in my opinion, there is a God.  Though, I am not sure to what nature.
I said yes to the NYC thing to support my friends wishes. I did say that the only reason I would every show my face on the tube would be for educational purposes only.  If I could teach, I would be happy with that.  For some reality show, no way.
    Cassidy O’Connor

    Hi Earthtone-
“Over compensation of humbleness”.  Let me give you a little background of myself.  I still bartend 60 hours a week.  I wake up in the morning, feed my son breakfast and send him to school.  I mow my lawn after it gets terribly long.  I have three dogs that mess up my house and have toys everywhere.
I pay my bills and bust my butt every day.  Fame? Fame is for the Paris Hitlons of the world, with their flashing smiles and over done makeup.
I have had the chance to learn and see so many things at my young age that many do not in a lifetime.  I am a very regular person, who has had the opportunity to have learned from some of the most amazing people on this planet.  Not only have I learned from them, but befriended them, whats not to be humble about?  I have been given so many opportunities and friendships that I can never be thankful enough.  If that makes me fake, then I am as plastic as a barbie doll.
    Cassidy O’Connor

  • Catparanormal

    Hi Steven Y,
Thank you for the comment, it gives me the chance to respond to many of the questions some may be wondering.
First of all, with the television show.  As I said above, I went as a favor to my team, and I told them that I would only be interested in it if the show was more on an educational basis.
NYC…my favorite on earth.  I am indeed very fearful of highways.  I have only ventured to NYC once in a vehicle; I was in the back seat with my eyes shut and my ipod blaring in my ears so that I could not hear or see the large trucks going by me.  Every other time I have visited NYC, I have flown.  To that point I take the  subway and walk.   Also, in the life of this case, I was forced to drive a 4 lane highway many times, not saying it didn’t scare me, but I did it because I had to.

With the bed jumping incident, I did not measure how high the bed was jumping off the floor.  It was an estimated guess, as I thought I made very clear during interview.  One reason why that event was so significant, was the fact that I was trying to prove the odd psychological behavior I had during the episode.  Why was I awake? Where did the bats come from? Why was I cool as a cucumber through that  very scary occurrence?  Hence why I spoke on it. It was more my behavior that was odd to me then the event itself.
When you speak of me only talking about myself towards the end of the interview, I was answering the questions that were given to me, as they were directed towards my feelings on different subjects.
This story is a true one, the family is out there, and reads these posts.  I knew when I put this book out there, that there would be criticism towards me.  I didn’t care, I still don’t.
    Thank you for your time,
    Cassidy O’Connor

  • Catparanormal

    Hi Sid,
I agree with you when you speak of using ones gift.  Before this book was released,  never spoke publicly of it.  I only used it on private cases.
If I wanted to be on the tube, I would have been there by now There are so many ridiculous dramatic “paranormal” shows out there, I could have been on.  What a joke.  As for the conferences, I have been lucky enough to meet some fantastic people, who I am still close with today.  Pure luck on my part for even being involved in them.  I never made a dime off of the conferences, I donated it all to breast cancer awareness.  So, yes, I am rock star in my own right. :)
It is just a story, and you will take it as you will.  I put it out there to help anyone I can.  I have already had feedback that I have, and I am happy with that.
    Cassidy O’Connor

  • Catparanormal

    Hi Carney,
Ahh, yes a true skeptic.  I respect you guys in great amounts.  I have a few friends that are massive skeptics, and we love to argue over coffee.
Everyone is different, if we weren’t the world would be really boring.  Call the story as you will, maybe someday, you will get the proof you seek.
    Cassidy O’Connor

  • Catparanormal

    Hi Martin-
I left the “rituals” out.  For every one that reads it and puts down when finished, there is one, that is going to try to copycat.  I left out our methods on purpose, as I state several times in the book itself.
There is a lot of documentation behind this.  Yes, I do have the recording, I also have copies of all the legal and medical paperwork on this case.  I of course will Never share them.  This child was barley a teen when this started, his personal paperwork is not the worlds business.
Would a priest put your confessions and deepest darkest secrets on a bill board? No.
The church was involved, to the highest level.  I left that out on purpose…  I left many things out, it wasn’t accidental.
    Thank you,
    Cassidy O’Connor

  • Catparanormal

Thank you Jack! Glad you enjoyed the interview.  I enjoyed being on the show very much.  What a wonderful set of guys they have!
    Cassidy O’Connor

  • Catparanormal

    I agree!!!  :)
    Cassidy O’Connor

  • Catparanormal

    Hi Dave,
As I said above, what was left out of the book, wasn’t accidental. This wasn’t an overnight thing, this was years.  The last night, that we “worked” on “Mary” took several hours.  After years of toying with this thing. This book is not meant to be a learning tool, it is meant to be a warning.  I left out our methods so that people wouldn’t foolishly pursue them in their own lives.   If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.

  • Catparanormal

    Thanks guys, you rock! <3

  • Catparanormal

    One more thing Martin,
I refer to the “nemesis” in this book as energy and influence.  I intend for the wording to stay that way.
    Cassidy O’Connor

  • Randi Michelle Rayne

I absolutely loved this podcast. I know Cassidy personally and have all the faith in the world that her recollection of the events described in her book are factual. She is an excellent author and her knowledge of the paranormal is extraordinary.

To the skeptics, I offer one piece of advice… have an open mind. Because I’m sure that there are things you believe that others don’t. The fact that you listen to podcasts on Mysterious Universe suggests that your minds are indeed open, to a degree… maybe it wouldn’t hurt to open them a bit further.
