Thanatonaut would be more appropriate… thanatos is the Greek personification of death itself (as eros is for lust or hypnos for sleep). Nekros generally refers only to the dead body.

Aliens are demons, lol so inane. There’s no end to how the religious will inject the Bible into everything. People like this and like The Strieber’s are why this field will continue to be laughed at and ignored by science and the media and why I will stay anonymous.

    That could work too ;)

In our cemetery there used to be a grave that had a bell on a stick coming out of the ground. Near the turn of the 20th century they had begun to realize that people were getting interred prematurely because of Cholera and other things. So it became a practice to install a bell where the “pre-deceased” could ring it for help if they woke up in such a circumstance. This was an old grave and the bell became rusty and corroded along with the pole it was on. There was no longer a rope attached. We used to scare ourselves in the community by going to the grave and saying a chant in the expectation that it would ring after all this time. There were always stories floating around about people hearing the bell ring in the dark of the night. The police finally took it down after gaining permission from the descendant family.

There is a movement pushing for understanding just before, during, and after the moment of death. There is even specifics on building a machine that does that.

Just got tuned in to the show and after a six hour binge (while doing some tactile work) I became a Plus+ member.

I know I’m late on this episode, but I immensely enjoyed the Lazarus Effect portion of the show.

You talked a lot of gathering new NDE information, but I couldn’t help but think of spirits/entities “latching” onto newly dead people and being brought back into our realm by these Nechronauts upon their return.

Spooky. Any other stories of people undergoing NDE and having lingering effects from the encounter?

The stories about those buried alive how scary. I could see why they buried bodies quickly back then. But didn’t they let bodies get cold? Being around someone that died you can tell the difference.
