Ready? Roll tape! Yes, it’s time for the feature presentation! The talkies have long been a source of rumour and entertainment; ensnaring movie-goers in a state of thrilling suspense. But it is a specific genre of movie; a thematic continuity in film which has caught the eyes of many: the paranormal. Christopher Lee’s portrayal of the master vampire Dracula may have been less “accurate” and more “exaggerated”, unfortunately, the silver screen versions of many of our favourite creatures and cryptids have left us feeling the same way. Here are some of the most horrifying – and the most face-palm worthy – adaptations of all time.

Harry a.k.a Bigfoot

The lovable sasquatch who became one of the family, Harry Henderson is arguably the biggest ever mainstream representation of our hairy North American friend. And at the risk of offending some of you out there who are fans of family fun-time films: this was not a good movie. Still, can’t argue with the box office. Whether he’s referred to as sasquatch, bigfoot, yeti or Harry, this mysterious cryptid has caused some of the most cringe-worthy films to be made, including one involving a no holds barred grudge match against a chupacabra. You have been warned…

Alien a.k.a Alien

Ask someone to name some of the biggest sci-fi movies of all time and they will almost always mention Ridley Scott’s Alien. Ask that same person what the one thing they remember from that film and they will almost always say the alien. Every other time they’d say Sigourney Weaver in her underwear. Extraterrestrial beings have a long history in the movies, featuring in such films as Predator, Predator 2, Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Alien vs Predator, Aliens vs Predator: Requiem….god, aren’t we sick of this yet?

Alien vs. Predator

The Children of Midwhich a.k.a Black Eyed Kids

Okay, so the children’s eyes aren’t black. And, they aren’t showing up at people’s houses in the middle of the night asking for anything. But apart from that, the similarities still stand. Originally filmed in 1960, then later remade in 1995, the Village of the Damned is one of the creepiest films ever made, no ifs ands or buts about it. Spawning a sequel named Children of the Damned, the story continued. They know all our secrets…

Spiders, snakes and the Bogeyman: each can be terrifying, even when not on a plane! And being scared of a poisonous arachnid or a six foot snake isn’t too unusual (especially in Australia). But what about phobias of the more freaky things; fears which spur the tales of the monstrous and mysterious?

The world is filled with skeptics, naysayers and disbelievers, but whatever’s lurking out there in the shadows has become real enough to cause legitimate psychological constructs. But what do we call these? What names have been given to these cases of paranormal induced paranoia?

Uranophobia & Stygiophobia

The fears of Heaven (Uranophobia) and Hell (should be obvious now). Not much is really known about what causes either of these two fears, other than an apparent combination of brain chemistry and past experiences. Although, it may not be unreasonable to postulate that a fear of Hell could be derived from certain religions out there (I’m not naming names). These fears just go to show that it’s the journey that counts, because the destination might just suck!

Necrophobia

Frankly I feel that those not afraid of the dead need help. Necrophobia should be a fear that we all share because unless the dead are in the ground, they shouldn’t be around. Ever. This phobia also extends to incorporate the fear that the spirits of the dead will return to inhabit or haunt the living. All the more reason to not have them around!

Xenophobia

Often over-simplified as the fear of strangers, xenophobia is also the irrational fear of the extraterrestrial. Now, I predict that many of you out there in this mysterious universe of ours (see what I did there?) are much more cool, calm and collected when it comes to our visiting space travelers. But that doesn’t negate the fact that the history of film and television has collectively depicted inter-stellar beings as violent and ruthless, and this depiction may be enough to alter and scar the minds of many. Pray that they’re wrong, and E.T just wants to hang out.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Spectrophobia

Ghosts, spirits, phantoms and spectral beings of all kinds; none are liked by the spectrophobe. Characterized by a fear of mirrors – which, by spectrophobes, are often believed to be gateways to another world or plane – spectrophobia is primarily caused by a traumatic event from the sufferer’s childhood.

“When they say ‘ghosts’, do they mean us?”

What is the connection between David Icke and former Page Three girl Leilani Dowding? It turns out the two see eye-to-eye when it comes to conspiratorial matters, the 33-year-old English glamor model and television celebrity expressing a strong admiration for Icke’s theories.

In an article that appeared in The Sun on March 13, 2013, it was revealed that Dowding, during a recent private dinner party with a group of friends and acquaintances, stunned her companions by stating, among other things, that she shares Icke’s belief in shape-shifting reptilian aliens.

The function, held during Los Angeles Fashion Week, was presumably restricted to the classy and glamorous. One unnamed attendee confessed to being “a little shocked by her comments; they were pretty out there.” They added: “Leilani kept going on about the Royals being a bunch of shape-shifting lizards… It was all very weird. She actually believes this stuff.”

“She babbles on about David Icke and how everything in his book The Biggest Secret has come true,” revealed another anonymous attendee. “She also thinks everything bad that happens in the world is a conspiracy, even 9/11. Some of the stuff coming out of her mouth was shocking… She’s nuts!”

That Dowding’s dinner party companions wound think of her as “nuts” for questioning the official version of 9/11, or for finding the Royals a little scaly in appearance, is not at all surprising when you consider that the vast majority of the population either has no interest in conspiracy theories or finds them objectionable. The question, then, is why would someone like Dowding – who’s been voted as one of FHM’s “top 100 sexiest women in the world” – hold a strong interest in such matters?

Dowding, who currently works as a fashion designer, clearly isn’t your typical celebrity. Whereas most celebrities have absolute faith in their government and no desire whatsoever to question the status quo, Dowding is fiercely suspicious of the powers that be, stating in a recent Twitter post regarding Barack Obama: “Can you explain how a man who just passed the use of drones on US soil to kill US citizens with no trial, has a Nobel Peace Prize?”

The image of Dowding presented by the mainstream media is of a woman who’s becoming unhinged from reality, her interest in conspiracies being a sign of mental instability. Stated The Sun: “Friends of the model told how Leilani has become socially withdrawn after [undergoing] a painful divorce… and now prefers to be alone with her three dogs.” The newspaper added that Dowding now spends most of her time reading “books about aliens and conspiracy theories… rather than seeing her chums.”

Fortunately, Dowding doesn’t fit the “bimbo model” stereotype. In fact, she has a reputation for being quick-witted and articulate. After receiving high grades in school, she started – though never completed – a degree in economics at the prestigious Royal Holloway University, in Surrey, choosing to quit her studies in order to pursue a career in fashion and modeling. Asked to comment on the “weird” and “shocking” statements she made recently, she confidently told The Sun: “I did say all that. I thought it was common knowledge. I truly believe there are powerful forces at work that keep the truth from the public.”

She added: “Anyway, what’s weird about believing in aliens? It would be pretty sad to find out that we are truly alone in the universe. I hope we’re not!”

Greetings, fellow Coppertops! On this week’s journey through the Fortean Matrix we’ll find spinning black holes & 3d printed cars, telepathic rats & NDE movies. And as we take a look at the Russian version of the X-files, we’ll open a bottle of champagne for that lucky couple who’ll enjoy a romantic trip to the planet Mars & back. You know, the Nebuchadnezzar also offers special trips for newlyweds, so you might wanna consider us in your honeymoon arrangements –what’s more romantic than a trip through the abandoned sewer system of a ruined megalopolis? After fleeing a sentinel attack, NOTHING in your marriage will appear too hard to handle.

10 Our first pill takes us close to the Cosmic version of the Leviathan monster: a black hole. For the first time scientists have been able to calculate the spin rate of a super-massive black hole, and were surprised to find out it was spinning at 84% the speed of light, which would be as fast as the laws of physics would permit. And just think that this galactic behemoth is 2 million miles in diameter, and its YOUR head the one that’ll start spinning uncontrollably.

God is the ultimate DJ, yo!

9 Another thing that’s also fast-pacing, although on a metaphorical sense, is human ingenuity. And one field that promises to increase its pace even further is 3-D printing. We’ve often discussed this fascinating technology on the Pills, and now we unveil its latest development: Urbee 2, the 3-D printable automobile.

Designed by engineer Jim Kor, Urbee’s light-weight polymer chassis is as tough as steel, and the whole car takes around 2500 hours to be printed in a large-scale printer. Granted, that’s not very efficient; but still, think of the possibilities: limitless customization, cheap replacement of worn-down or broken parts without the fear that your local shop has to order the piece & You have to take a cab to work until its delivered. Not only that, but 3-D printing would give car makers the freedom of producing the cars with fewer parts, translating in a reduced price tag.

Personally, I can’t wait until the Urbee is available for sale.

8 But sometimes the price of human ingenuity is paid by other species. Take for example lab rats: Egg-heads have spent quite a lot of time endowing them with super-musculature, enhanced brain power, or even an extended life span. But not happy with that, now the egg-heads have gone one step further, and granted the rats the ability to ‘telepathically’ communicate with each other, thanks to microscopic electrodes implanted into their brains.

For the love of Shepard, you people: STOP giving super-powers to vermin! This is a trend that’s not going to end well for humanity.

7 Then again, those lab rats are treated far more humanely than how Nazi criminals treated the members of our own species inside their concentration camps. This week the New York Times reported on a new study, conducted by a group of historians who made a shocking discovery: The Nazis had around 42,500 ghettos & camps spread all around Europe, a figure so high many academicians did a double take when the group presented their findings during a forum at the German Historical Institute in Washington in late January.

The documented camps include not only “killing centers” but also thousands of forced labor camps, where prisoners manufactured war supplies; prisoner-of-war camps; sites euphemistically named “care” centers, where pregnant women were forced to have abortions or their babies were killed after birth; and brothels, where women were coerced into having sex with German military personnel.

An estimate of 15 to 20 million people were imprisoned or exterminated inside these camps. Proof that no matter how much we think we knew about the brutality of Hitler’s minions, there is still much to be dug out and preserved, so that never again our culture falls into such levels of inhumanity.

6 In the XXth century even people who would have been shocked by the crimes committed by the III Reich did nevertheless share some of their beliefs concerning what is usually known as Social Darwinism: the idea that ‘survival of the fittest’ should be applied to society in order to ‘cull down’ those members deemed a burden to the rest of the group.

Those ‘undesirables’ vary depending on the values of a given community: people with mental problems, those who displayed ‘sexual deviancy’, or in the case of James ‘the Amazing’ Randi, those addicted to illegal substances. At least that’s what one might infer from a post written by Randi on his blog, in which he expresses his personal disdain for “those individuals who were stupid enough to rush into the arms of the mythical houris and/or Adonis’s” and who would do well to just drop dead for the benefit of the rest of us.

That quote, and another one provided by Randi to author Will Storr during an interview, has been the subject of a little controversy now that Storr’s book The Heretics: Adventures with the Enemies of Science has been published. In the book Storr writes that when he confronted Randi with the quote of his blog, instead of backing up Randi expounded on his thoughts:

“I’m a believer in Social Darwinism. Not in every case. I would do anything to stop a twelve-year-old kid from doing it. Sincerely. But in general, I think that Darwinism, survival of the fittest, should be allowed to act itself out. As long as it doesn’t interfere with me and other sensible, rational people who could be affected by it. Innocent people, in other words.”

So it would seem that the founder of the JREF, an institution which promotes itself as the champion of helpless victims in danger of being hoodwinked by charlatans & hucksters –because according to them, ALL people who claim to have psychic abilities are either charlatans or self-deluded– doesn’t think the same of drug addicts, who –in his own words– are “stupid people. And if they can’t survive, they don’t have the IQ, don’t have the thinking power to be able to survive, it’s unfortunate; I would hate to see it happen, but at the same time, it would clear the air.”

Last Friday Sharon Hill posted a response from the JREF foundation with regards to Storr’s book:

“The statement “I’m a believer in social Darwinism,” did not come from me. In fact, I had to look up the expression to learn what was being referred to. This attack appears to be calling me a Nazi, nothing less. I demand that Mr. Storr refer me to the original sources to which we assume he has referred. Until then, I’ll only say that he has carefully selected phrases and statements out of context, not the sort of referencing that I would have expected from him.”

So now the response of several members of the skeptical community was to suspect Storr of quote-mining, or even libel against one of their most respected leaders. Unfortunately for them, skeptic blogger Hayley Stevens interjected when she wrote that she herself had heard Storr’s original tape, and the tape disproved Randi’s recent allegations:

I listened to the interview being played to me over the phone and I heard James Randi talk about how he believed that those addicted to substances should be allowed to “do themselves in“. He then said ‘I’m a believer in, if you call that Social Darwinism, I would have to generally agree”. There’s a pause and then Storr points out that many would consider such a belief to be a right wing view of other people. The conversation continues.

So by Saturday the JREF had to do some damage control. On the comment thread in Sharon’s page Randi wrote:

Until just recently, I did not recall having spoken with Mr. Storr years ago about certain comments posted on randi.org, and I barely recall that event, even now This is an understandable lapse, since I’m constantly being interviewed, and often under circumstances that call for my attention to be otherwise directed, Also, some interviews occurred during a time of my life in recent years when my health – and thus my cognition – were not at their best. The unfair suggestion that Mr. Storr tried to provoke me, or that he’s a “bad guy,” is something I must dismiss, since I believe I would have remembered that sort of behavior. In any case, I now know much more about the described encounter, and I maintain that I would never have said I was a Social Darwinist, since I only recently learned in detail what that term really means, and in fact I was quite ignorant of the history of the movement organized around that false idea. I’ve been surprised that this was not obvious to people discussing the matter, but I accept that the conversation with Mr. Storr went just as described. No problem with that.

Go to the webpages and read all the statements by yourself. After you finish you might find yourself thinking –as am I– that the skeptic community is uncomfortably conceding that one of their most notable spokesperson is nevertheless holding to some rather antiquated –and, more to the point, unscientific– ideas, and that said ideas and the recent controversy are the result of his advanced age –Randi is an octogenarian– & declining health. You can go to Doubtful News & The Daily Grail to read my personal stance on this situation as well, but I’ll finish by only asking you this: what does it say to you when the founder of a famous educational institution claims that up until now he didn’t know what Social Darwinism is?

5 On his reply at Doubtful News Randi asked that the JREF & himself were not treated as targets, and yet Randi himself has made a career of treating people who hold ideas antagonistic to his as veritable bulls-eyes. One of the skeptic/atheist movement’s favorite scape goat is NDE research, and that’s why that after the publication of Dr. Eben Alexander’s best-selling book Proof of Heaven, has been the subject of many scathing criticisms written by some of the most prominent spokespersons in that community.

Those folks are probably not too pleased to learn that Universal has acquired the movie rights of Alexander’s book, a decision which will no doubt will bring the controversial claims of this neurosurgeon to an even bigger audience. What can I say, guys? even with that corny title, Proof of Heaven sounds like a much more fun movie experience than The God’s Delusion.

4 Admit it: We *all* cried the 1st time we watched Titanic, even if now we can’t stand Celine Dion’s song & think that old lady was a selfish bitch for throwing the jewel into the ocean. And even though James Cameron is no doubt planning several sequels to Avatar, the possibility to a Titanic II coming to your nearest Multiplex is rather unlikely –unless it was a ghost movie or something.

But, that doesn’t mean we can’t have a Titanic II in real life. And that’s exactly Australian billionaire Clive Palmer’s vision, as he plans to unveil the replica to the world’s most famous ship by 2016? And you know why I think this is gonna work? Because by then there won’t be any freaking icebergs left in the ocean. Thank you, global warming!

3 Unlike Titanic, which gets tiresome after one view, I’ll never get tired of watching the original Star Wars trilogy. I’m sure I’m not the only mid-aged nerd who once dreamed of having a furry 7-foot-tall sidekick who would rip the arms off my school enemies.

And now that alleged screen-shots of the controversial Erickson project have leaked into the Internet, I believe a new Fortean meme should be coined: Chewbasquatch.

The Erickson project is currently linked to the Melba Ketchum DNA study. I’m no Jedi, but I’ve gotta bad feeling about all of this…

2 Just as the Star Wars movies kindled my geeky passion in the 80s, the X-Files TV series appealed to my Fortean sensibilities in the 90s. And speaking of the X-Files, a very interesting article was published last week on Pravda, concerning the disclosing of a secret project carried out during the Soviet era, whose goal was to get in contact with alien intelligences.

Yes, I’m fully aware that Pravda is not exactly the most reliable news source in the world, but still I must admit that the contents of the article make a lot of sense to me. The retired senior officers of the Soviet Ministry of Defense explained how they ‘lured’ UFOs by increasing the activity on a certain missile testing ground –something that reminds me of the famous Rendlesham case in the UK.

The main project of the unit was a state program on the discovery of intellectual human resources. The goal of the program was to identify ways to make the human brain work in a special regime of super-powers, making a person a superhuman. The Scientific Council of the program was led by an Academician Natalya Bekhtereva, who until her death served as a scientific director of the Institute of Human Brain of RAS.

Over two hundred highly skilled professionals from across the country participated in the program. “In the process of research, we came to the conclusion that a human was an energy and information system that receives information from outside. This is precisely why a human can manifest paranormal abilities,” said Alexey Savin. In order to identify this external source of information, three groups were created. One group was formed from scientists, another – from military, and the third one was composed of women.

The group of women made the most significant progress in the research. Savin explained that they “wanted to make a contact with representatives of other civilizations. And we did it.” According to him, a special method has been developed that allowed the human brain to tune into a contact. “We had to tune energy-contour of the human brain to a particular wave, like a radio,” Alexey Savin explained.

To anyone moderately versed in the UFO phenomenon, none of this should be particularly shocking. The US military’s experiments with remote viewing also yielded somewhat similar results. And on top of that, reading the Pravda article also reminded me of our friend Nick Redfern’s book Final Events.

No hypnosis, drugs, or other similar methods were used in the course of the experiment. A special system of testing was also developed to separate the incoming reports from hallucinations and insanity of the experiment participants. The experimental results were impressive: six participants were given a chance of physical contact, and two of them even managed to visit an alien ship. According to Savin, representatives of extraterrestrial civilizations revealed themselves gradually, giving away the information as they saw fit.

In particular, they talked about their government structure and education system. No information on the military could be obtained. The only thing they agreed to share was a scheme of the equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. The head of the experiment explained that humans were like small children to them. “Our civilization is too young to be of interest to them as a subject for a dialogue. Because we are also a part of the universe, we may harm ourselves and other civilizations with our foolish actions, so they are looking out for us. “

That last quote is particularly tantalizing, considering how one of my favorite explanations for the Fermi paradox is the Quarantine hypothesis.

1 My cosmic compadre Micah Hanks has publicly stated that in his opinion there’s still no reliable evidence pointing out to an extraterrestrial explanation for the UFO phenomenon. While I tend to agree with him, I would nevertheless point out that there a handful of interesting exceptions to that claim. One of those exceptions is the famous disappearance of the Soviet probe Phobos II, which before going silent managed to capture a rather enigmatic shadow cast by a gigantic object on the surface of the Martian moon.

Whether or not there’s an extraterrestrial intelligence patrolling the orbit of Mars is something that hasn’t stopped our efforts of establishing a human presence on that planet –although perhaps it has delayed them. And the big news this week was the announcement made by Dennis Tito, the 1st space tourist in the world, of sending a couple of humans –a man and a woman, preferably married and past their reproductive age– to a 501-day fly-by trip to Mars.

“Inspiration Mars reminds me of Apollo 8 in 1968, going around the moon,” software billionaire Charles Simonyi, who spent tens of millions of dollars buying two flights to the International Space Station, said in a Twitter update. “Inspiration is a goal for humans, science should be left to the rovers.”

I wholeheartedly concur, and even though many space pundits are expressing their skepticism that Tito’s project will be ready in time to take advantage of the brief 2018 window –an event that repeats every 15 years when the Earth & Mars align & distances are considerably shorter– I for one wish him the best of luck.

May I suggest nonetheless that instead of sending a heterosexual couple to consider conjoined twins as the 1st human visitors to the Red planet? After all, these are folks guaranteed to tolerate each other during a cramped year-and-a-half long space trip.

I mean if you’re already taking advantage of nature to ensure your plan is successful, then go the distance, dude! Just sayin…

Until next time, this is RPJ jacking out, wishing you Siamese dreams tonight.

The ten-year-old boarded the airplane in Vancouver in silence, a girl about the same age followed in his wake. Shannon sat in a seat at the rear of the airliner, holding her 18-month-old, and watched the children as they walked down the aisle. Shannon’s now ex-husband had taken their two-year-old to the bathroom, leaving her alone with the baby.

As the ten-year-olds approached, Shannon quickly understood something was wrong with the boy. “His coloring was unrealistically perfect,” she said. “Bright blue eyes that gave off energy and light. I felt like he could see every little thing about me, deeply into my soul and mind. It was hard, but I maintained eye contact.”

The boy’s salmon-colored polo perfectly matched the color of his lips, offsetting his lightly tan skin, and those deep blue eyes. “He was unnervingly intelligent.” Shannon watched the children as they slowly made their way toward her, the boy radiating a feeling that drew her breath short. “I knew right away he wasn’t a child and wasn’t human,” she said.

Shannon looked down, away from the gaze of this strange child. His voice brought her eyes back to his.

”A bit stressful?” he asked.

She mumbled a quiet, “Yes, it is,” and he walked away.

“I knew something was odd before I looked up, because what human ten-year-old notices a stressed-out mom six or seven rows back?” she said.

The girl shuffled behind the boy, trying to stay out of people’s memory. “She never made eye contact and had her head down,” Shannon said. “Very non-descript. His opposite. I was too interested in his eyes to care about her.”

The children took seats six rows in front of Shannon who sat in the very back row. When the plane landed in Minnesota, Shannon thought her family was the last to deplane, but six rows up she found the strange boy staring at her. “He was waiting for me, turned towards me, watching me walk towards him,” she said. “I felt quite shy and had a hard time maintaining eye contact but did so. I felt like he wanted me to stay and talk, but I followed my family out, none of whom reacted to the two kids.” The girl never made eye contact; she simply stared at her shoes.

Shannon watched for these children as she deplaned and waited for her luggage at the baggage carrousel. Shannon never saw the children again. “They disappeared off the plane,” she said. “They were the last ones on and we waited for a long time … and they never got off.” She asked her ex-husband about the boy years later; he never saw him.

There are people in our periphery, people who shuffle past as we walk down city streets, stand behind us in checkout lines, or pause for a lingering stare. These people would normally inhabit the background of our attention, filling spaces occupied by city noise, pedestrians, and passing cars – except for their presence. There’s something strange about these people, something uncomfortable, something inhuman.

It’s even more disturbing when these people are children. Shannon isn’t alone in encountering children who seem to be so much more.

When 18-year-old Myra Thom and her mother stepped from a corner bakery back onto the streets of Sikatuna, Philippines, Myra expected them to walk to the next store for their weekly shopping trip. She didn’t expect to walk into something disturbing.

She heard a voice, a tiny voice. “We both distinctly heard the voice of a small child calling my name,” Myra, now 40, said. “My name was pronounced clearly, as if by an adult, but when my mother and I turned, we saw that it was a very small child maybe just a little over a year old. He could not walk on his own yet.”

Two women who appeared to be nearly identical, both wearing blue jeans and white shirts, stood on either side of the strange child holding one of the child’s little hands. The child, with chubby cheeks and curly light brown, stared at Myra, and that stare chilled her. “The little boy was looking straight at me with a knowing, absolutely unchildlike gaze,” Myra said. “It was as if he knew something about me that I did not know.”

The baby smiled faintly at Myra, never moving his gaze from hers. “The most unusual or strange thing about him was the expression on his face. It was definitely, absolutely not something you would expect to see on the face of a child that young,” Myra said. “It was a knowing look, almost malicious, and it was made even stranger by the fact that it was coming from a child that looked like the very depiction of the cherubim in the church.”

As the trio walked by, Myra realized she never got a good look at the women, although they appeared to be typical Filipino women. The child seemed to be Caucasian. “They both had their backs turned,” Myra said. “The baby was twisting its head and body all the way around just to stare at me, and it stayed that way all the way to the corner until they disappeared from our view.”

Twenty-two yeas later, this seems to Myra as having happened yesterday. Unlike Shannon’s ex-husband, there is a witness. “My mother corroborates this,” Myra said. “What really struck her about the child is that weird look on its face that was very unchildlike and the fact that it did not remove its gaze from me while we were within viewing distance of each other.”

Although the encounter still baffles Myra, it does provide her with some comfort. “I consider it a gift from the universe, for it gave me what I consider to be my first real proof that there is something out there beyond what we normally believe to be absolute reality,” she said. “But at the same time it has also always worried me. Was the child an angel, a demon, an alien, a ghost, an elemental? What was its purpose in calling my name?”

The story begins with a broken marriage. A man, who wants to go by the name Powerman, drove to the Daniels’ house in Southern California in 1998 to talk with his friend Reggie. Reggie was going through a divorce and had recently moved back in with his parents.

“He sounded very depressed on the phone so I went by his parent’s house to try and cheer him up,” Powerman said. “But when I got to their house he was not there.”

The Daniels offered him dinner, so Powerman stayed. “Reggie’s father started talking to me about his son’s break up with his wife, and the fact that they were a black and white couple may have made it hard on their relationship,” Powerman said. “His wife Mrs. Daniels commented, too, about race.”

Then a look crossed Mr. Daniels’ face and the conversation turned to something unexpected. “Mr. Daniels told me there was bigger things going on in the world than between black and white people,” he said.

Powerman asked Mr. Daniels what he meant. “That’s when he told me about (what is now) Edwards Air Force Base,” Powerman said. “He use to work there in Mohave, California, on the base with a clean up crew.”

Mr. Daniels and his co-workers went to the sergeant in 1949 to complain about the treatment of black men on the base, but didn’t suspect their view of reality was about to change. “They were going to complain about not being able to fly and only being able to clean wrecked test planes or clean toilets,” Powerman said. “The sergeant told them to shut up or they would be fired.” The next day the sergeant sent the crew into the desert.

“They thought they where going to clean another plane wreck but found instead shiny silver pieces all over the ground,” Powerman said. “He said he thought it was aluminum foil.”

As they got closer to the crash sight the crew saw something unbelievable. “They saw what they thought where little kids on the ground,” Powerman said. “Then he said they jumped out of the truck and saw that it was little gray and pink people with big heads and big black oval-shaped eyes.”

When Mr. Daniels said, “people use to say they where green but they are not,” Powerman burst into laughter.

“I started laughing so hard because he was making these faces,” Powerman said. “He started yelling loud the more I laughed. I told him that I was sorry but it sounded so funny to me.”

Mr. Daniels looked at him sternly and said, “That’s why they don’t tell people this stuff ‘cause they think it’s a joke or that he is crazy.” When Mr. Daniels called his wife back to the table and asked her to repeat what he’d told her in 1949 Powerman stopped laughing.

“She shook her head, ‘yes it was true,’ and said for months he acted strange before he told her.”

Then Mr. Daniels took the story a step further. “He told me that one of his friends talked to one of the aliens with his mind and his friend ran off into the desert,” Powerman said. “He touched one alive and dead and loaded them into the trucks.”

The clean up crew found thin metal and equipment scattered over the desert and wreckage “they believed to be a ship.” Crews from Lockheed arrived and worked with the military, picking up pieces of the ship and spiriting them away.

“I was just shocked to hear all this,” Powerman said. “I asked him why did he not talk about this to like the radio or newspaper. He said that he and his co-workers were all told that it never happen and that if word got out that they spoke about what they saw they would suffer dire consequences.”

After an hour, Reggie came to the house and the UFO crash story ended. Powerman didn’t think about it for years until he saw a television story on the Roswell crash, and Mr. Daniels words flooded back into his mind.

The incidents began slowly. As Jay Carlton’s family got ready for church one Sunday in 1983, music began to pour from 18-year-old Carlton’s stereo, even though it had been off just moments before. As he stared at the device in his Independence, Missouri, home it shut off. No one was near it.

“On the day I was getting baptized as a Mormon, some weird things were going on,” Carlton said.

As the family drove to church, the car’s windshield wipers turned themselves on and off. Then something else happened, although the family didn’t realize it at the time.

“At church everyone asked us what took us so long,” Carlton said. “We were really late.”

And they were, although they didn’t know why they were late, or what had happened.

A year after his baptism, Carlton’s faith in the church faltered, and he found himself alone and upset.

“I had a disagreement with the church,” he said. “I went home at night and took down all the spiritual pictures I had.”

Finished clearing his walls of religious images, he relaxed and sat on his bed, staring out his bedroom window. He saw a light.

“I saw what I thought was the moon and it was full,” Carlton said. “I said, ‘man, the moon looks pretty tonight.’ Then it moved.”

The light grew closer to Carlton’s house; he found he wasn’t alone in the room.

“I was thrown flat on my back by some force,” Carlton said. “I couldn’t move. I couldn’t open my eyes. I felt a presence at my feet.”

As he lay pinned to his bed, struggling against something – some entity he couldn’t see – his religious teachings came back to him.

“I called out to Jesus and it left,” Carlton said. He lay there, panting, now able to move and open his eyes; he wondered what had been in his room.

That wasn’t the last time.

Carlton served in the Army National Guard, worked in law enforcement, and currently works as a security guard. He’s seen a lot of strange things in his work, but nothing like what has followed him throughout his life.

Carlton, once again a Mormon and living in Salt Lake City in 2002, was driving to a church dance near when he lost hours of his life.

“I think the dance started at 7:30, 8 o’clock. I left at 6 something,” he said. “I was lost and was trying to get back to the road the dance was on. I was going toward the mountains west near Utah Lake.”

On a long stretch of road, Carlton noticed the big, full moon.

“It was beautiful,” he said. “It started to move. I thought, ‘here we go again.’”

The light began to “do maneuvers. I thought maybe it was a helicopter.”

He rolled down his window; there was no sound. It wasn’t a helicopter.

“My mindset at the time I wasn’t even going to pay attention,” he said. “I turned south and came upon Utah Lake.”

He drove by a small peninsula framed by a fence. Later, he drove by the same fenced-off peninsula a second time.

“I remember passing again and said, ‘what on earth?’” Carlton said. “I got to the dance and my friends said, ‘where have you been?’ It was 9:30. I had lost time.”

Since then Carlton has experienced more lost time than he cares to count. He moved back to the Independence, Missouri, area, and strangeness continued to stalk him. Carlton has seen metallic craft floating in the mid-day sky, large white lights pacing his car, triangular craft the size of a football field, and a 100-yard-long snake-like metallic craft undulating in the afternoon sky.

He also has experienced physical symptoms typical of alien abductions.

“I find blood drops on my bed down near my navel area,” he said. “No nosebleed, nothing. Marks on my body that would disappear the next morning.”

However, Carlton is convinced his experiences aren’t related to aliens from space.

“Less than a year ago, I saw a being at 3 or 3:30 in the morning,” Carlton said. “It was the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Carlton lay on the couch in the basement when a feeling dragged him from sleep. He opened his eyes and saw a red human-like creature about four feet tall with long ears, and dead black eyes.

“It had this funny stare towards me,” Carlton said. “Almost like it wanted to laugh.” But it couldn’t laugh; the entity had almost no mouth, just a small slit.

During about ten seconds of eye contact, Carlton was convinced this entity didn’t mean him harm.

“It was just checking on me,” he said. “How’s he doing today? I can’t say I wasn’t scared. I’m staring at a being I’ve never seen before. Is this an alien? Is this a demon? What the flip is this thing?”

Carlton mustered enough courage to speak and said, “Lord Jesus.” The entity simply disappeared. Carlton is convinced, after a spiritual encounter in 2002 in which he heard the voice of God, that many of what people consider UFOs and extraterrestrials are some type of angel.

“I believe that they are both fallen and good angels,” he said. “They are constantly at battle in the heavens. When they go from universe to universe they use these craft. UFO buffs say they’re beings from another planet, I’m not saying that’s not possible.”

But he knows what he’s encountered is spiritual.

“I’m being taxed for my purpose on earth,” he said. “There’s angels constantly looking over me, and there are bad angels attacking me. It’s spiritual warfare. It’s been that way for a long, long time.”

And the warfare for Carlton continues.

“A few months ago I saw a bluish light shining in my room and felt something touching my feet,” he said. Carlton now lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma. “I looked at my clock which read 3:33 a.m. The very next morning I noticed small long fingerprints on my desktop computer next to my bed.”

In a case that might have served as one of the inspirations for the Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams blockbuster “Super 8,” a group of Japanese kids had repeated run-ins with a small, silver UFO, which they managed to not only photograph, but actually capture for a brief time during the summer of 1972.

There is inexplicably little information to be found — in the western world anyway — regarding the strange series of events that began on August 25th, 1972, in the Kera area of Kōchi City, which is the capital of Kōchi Prefecture on the Shikoku island of Japan. On the afternoon in question a 13 year-old student named Michio Seo was on his way home from middle-school when he allegedly caught site of an unbelievable metallic object hovering over a rice field.

The awestruck Seo watched the odd apparatus zip back and forth above the waterlogged paddy. The airborne object resembled a dull, silver hat with a flat bottom and a narrow lip. The curved dome atop the lip was relatively steep and level at the apex. Seo would later compare the objects movements to that of a bat making hairpin turns in pursuit of its insect prey.

Seo’s curiosity swiftly usurped his fear and he began to approach the miniature flying saucer, but before he could get too close the object allegedly shot a blinding beam toward the teen. Seo, not wishing to further provoke the UFO — or its possible occupants — quickly fled the scene.

As soon as young Seo got back to Kera he hurriedly rounded up four of his best friends — Hiroshi Mori, Yasuo Fujimoto, Katsuoka Kojima and a buddy known only as Yuji — and told them about his incredible encounter. His pals, skeptical, though intrigued, wasted no time in forming a makeshift posse to go out and find this miniature flying dome.

At approximately 7:00 pm. Seo, Mori, Fujimoto, Kojima and Yuji arrived at the rice field. The boys kept a steadfast vigil for the better part of an hour when, to the shock of everyone except Seo, the small object returned. The thrilled teens stared at the strange object that was hovering over the field approximately 60-feet from them. Then, as the sun dipped low over the horizon and dusk began to settle in, the device began to emit a pulsating multicolored light.

One of the young men, no doubt bolstered by the pressure of his peers, began to stalk the erratically floating UFO. As he neared the object it suddenly emitted an earsplitting “pop” and began to shimmer with a bluish hue. This was all the youngsters needed to send them sprinting back toward their homes.

Seo, Mori, Fujimoto, Kojima and Yuji would occasionally visit the field following their sighting and on September 4th — Just over a week after their initial run-in — their patience paid off. At about 9:30 pm. the five young men once again came face to face with the silvery object flying nearly 3-feet above the field. The little UFO started glowing and began to zoom toward the boys causing them to scatter and once again retreat with haste.

Once home, the boys reclaimed their courage and vowed to procure a camera and spend every waking moment they could staking out the field in hopes of finally capturing the unusual object on film. Their surveillance began the next evening, but the object did not return. The following night, however, would be a different story.

On September 6th the boys’ vigilance paid off when on their way to the rice paddy they spied the object lying on the ground in the middle of the field before them. The teenagers, now armed with a camera, sagely decided to snap a photo before they approached the downed “craft.”

Once the flashbulb went off the object on the ground began spinning and rapidly rose into the air. The unknown cameraman shot another photo just after its ascension.

This is where accounts get a little murky, but what seems to have happened next is that the object emitted a light that was even brighter than the flashbulb’s burst, before once again plummeting to the ground.

The still spinning object almost seemed to be burrowing into the dirt when it stopped moving.

At this point 14 year-old Hiroshi Mori cautiously moved toward the incapacitated flying saucer. The brave (or foolhardy) boy decided to bend over and lift the object up with his bare hands.

As he did so he claimed that he felt something “moving” inside. A photo of Miro holding the UFO was then taken.

The boys marveled at their peculiar prize before Miro wrapped it in a plastic bag and placed it in his backpack and took it home. Once there the boys warily measured the object and declared it to be nearly 8-inches wide and almost 4-inches in height. The now inert UFO was said to weigh about 3 lbs.

They also discovered a series of concentric curves, thirty-one small holes and three unique designs etched into the base of the object. The gang deemed that the etchings represented waves or clouds, a bird or some sort of “flying object,” and something they interpreted to be a budding flower. There was no visible propulsion system.

Following their inspection, the boys repacked the object in plastic and brought their puzzling find to the home of Yasuo Fujimoto. Fujimoto’s father, Mutsuo, was the current director of the Center for Science Education in the city of Kōchi.

The senior Fujimoto gave the object a cursory examination, assuming that the find was of little significance. That would be a decision that he would come to regret. In his own words:

“The frequent nights out of the boys began to worry parents, I told my son if it was true what he said, to bring the object. He did: it was something like an ashtray, cast iron, but too light for this metal. (It) had a top down it was impossible to open and inside were pieces similar to a radio. I did not give more importance, but now I regret not having studied more closely.”

Following Mr. Fujimoto’s brief once over, the object was returned to Mori’s backpack, but, much to the chagrin of all involved, it was discovered missing just a day later. This would not be the last time this mysterious object would be seen… or recovered for that matter.

Over the course of the next two weeks Seo, Mori, Fujimoto, Kojima and Yuji all claimed to have seen the same (or identical) objects in flight on at least six more occasions. Fujimoto himself saw it three times. The gang even managed to capture it a second time, but the object disappeared under mysterious circumstances yet again.

The boys — trying to predict when the object would next rear its proverbial head — deduced that the single unifying factor in all of their sightings was the fact that they never seemed to occur on rainy days. This, they surmised, was due to the fact that the object “feared” water. Bearing this in mind they formulated a plan to capture the device.

On September 19, the gang once again returned to the now notorious rice paddy to try and detain the mystifying UFO. This time the boys were armed with a bucket of runoff water and some tattered rags. As luck would have it they found the device sitting motionless on the ground.

The group hurriedly covered the object with rags and poured the water in the bucket over it. They then turned the object over and started to fill the perforations at the base with the remainder of the greenish water. As soon as the liquid entered the device it began emitting a deafening noise that they compared to a cicada-like buzzing. The interior of the object also started to glow.

The youngsters were abruptly struck with the notion that the object might try to retaliate to this perceived attacked and started to back away from the stationary UFO, pelting it with stones. The once flying object remained earthbound and the gang reclaimed their potentially extraterrestrial quarry.

Once back at Katsuoka Kojima’s house, the young men looked through the tiny holes and noticed what appeared to be a plethora or miniature mechanisms, Levers and weird drawings.

The intrepid youths then took more pictures and attempted to open the device by inserting a wire into one of the holes and manipulating it.

Eventually they hung the device upside down by the wire, Gravity pulled at the top of the dome resulting in a slight separation between the top and bottom sections of the object. The boys could see what they referred to as “complicated electronic equipment” inside the item as well as unidentified a viscous material. Could this have been the liquefied remains of the pilot, who — much like Oz’s Wicked Witch — melted on contact with the water?

The boys then attempted (with a dubious sense of scientific integrity, no doubt) to see how strong the exterior shell of the object was by pummeling it with a hammer. They discovered that even the thinnest parts of the light metal remained unblemished no matter how hard they hit it. This seems to be a fairly common trait of materials recovered at alleged UFO crash sites.

At this point the boys decided to try yet another experiment by putting the UFO in the oven to see what kind of temperatures it could withstand, but before they got the chance Kojima’s mother, Aiko Katsuoka, wisely put the kibosh on that. She also refused to allow them to store it in her refrigerator, which the boys believed might prevent the UFO from escaping yet again.

The gang then came to the conclusion that the device was likely some kind of “remotely controlled” surveillance mechanism of unknown origin. It was then that they decided it was time to reveal their cherished mystery mechanism to their classmates the following week, but before putting it away for the night they wrapped in additional rags under the naïve impression that it would prevent the thing from leaking any “atomic radiation.”

The object was then given to Seo and Mori for safekeeping while the rest returned home for dinner and chores. The young watchmen, feeling that the object was secure in the room with them, relaxed for an evening of comic book consumption and the anticipation of the notoriety that would greet them and their cohorts the following Monday at school when they revealed their wondrous contraption.

When the rest of the group returned later that evening to check on their discovery, they were all dismayed to discover that beneath the pile of rags there was nothing to be found. After a fruitless search, the boys reached the inescapable conclusion that their mini-saucer has once again flown the coop, so to speak.

A few hours later Kojima and Mori were playing ball at Mori’s house. Kojima lunged over the fence pursuing the ball and much to his surprise and delight stumbled across the still immobile UFO. Kojima and Mori swiftly absconded back into the house with the recovered saucer.

At his juncture the comrades shrewdly decided that they should mark the silver dome with paint lest it pull another disappearing act. This would be to confirm that they were actually encountering the same UFO over and over again, rather than disparate (though indistinguishable) machines. The boys had lost and found the object so many times by this point they naturally assumed that if it vanished it would again turn up near the rice field or in one of their backyards.

On the evening of September 22nd, the crew gathered together of a bike ride into Kōchi City. It was decided that they would all take turns carrying the device, which they no longer left unattended.

To further prevent its escape Mori determined that the UFO would be sealed in a plastic bag full of water, which they continued to hypothesize, had some sort of restraining effect on the apparatus. As if that weren’t enough, the boys tied a piece of string from the knot on the bag to the wrist of whomever was carrying it to insure that nothing would happen this time.

The knotted bag containing the UFO was then placed in duffle bag and inserted into the bicycle basket of the first carrier, and the gang set off. The bag switched from rider to rider as they tore through the city until it ended up in the basket of its last caretaker, whose name was not revealed.

The gang continued their journey until they neared a local bicycle repair shop. At that moment, the final rider claimed he felt his wrist — which was attached by string to the bag — wrench with immense force. He immediately called out to his friends, who skidded to a halt ahead of him.

The boys instantly opened the satchel and untied the string and the knots on the plastic bag, but when they looked inside they found that, even though the knots had not been tampered with, the tiny UFO was nowhere to be found. The boys would never see the object again, much to their disappointment.

THE CASE IS REOPENED:

This unique case remained largely unknown to the general public until May of 2004, when UFO Comics published an illustrated retelling of the case. This introduced the encounter to a new generation of UFO enthusiasts garnering it somewhat of a cult following in Japan.

Due to the buzz, in 2007 — a full 35 years after the events in question — Shinichiro Namiki, the director of the Japan Space Phenomena Society (JSPS,) reopened the investigation. The head of the JSPS Osaka chapter, Kazuo Hayashi, was sent to speak with the remaining witnesses and confirmed that they all maintained the veracity of their original accounts.

During the course of his investigation, Hayashi encountered another tiny UFO tale that occurred in the same prefecture as the Kera event just 4 years later. On the evening of June 6th, 1976, a 9-year-old girl named Sachiko Oyama, from the village of Agawa (now known as Niyodogawa-cho,) went outside to find her pet cat when she noticed a small, yellow luminous object floating in the eastern sky.

Oyama walked into the middle of the street to afford herself a better view. It was then that she saw the unusual object descend in a nearby wooded grove. Overcome by curiosity, the young girl followed the UFO to the edge of the tree line. It was then that the object allegedly hit a tree and proceeded to silently land on the pavement near her feet at which point it emitted a “hissing” sound.

Oyama would layer describe the object has resembling a silver (though some accounts say “black”) hat that was about 7-inches in diameter; a familiar description to say the least. The courageous girl bent over and touched the object, which she claimed was covered with a “slimy substance” that stuck to her finger.

Like the boys who encountered the virtually identical object in Kera, Oyama suddenly found herself overwhelmed by fear. She turned and began to run for the safety of her home, but when she glanced over her shoulder she noticed that the downed device had started to glow yellow once again. Oyama watched in disbelief as the UFO rose, spun counter-clockwise three times, then shot skyward and out of view.

Hayashi also confirmed that the then 40 year-old Oyama still stood by her story in 2007. It was then that Hayashi put forth the hypothesis that these flying objects were actually inter-dimensional vehicles that had temporarily lost their way after slipping into our realm.

Hayashi seemed satisfies with his theory, but what should we make of these mysterious objects that seemingly toyed with these Japanese kids back in 1972 and 1976? Were they UFOs in the classic sense of a interstellar or inter-dimensional vehicles? It goes without saying that by 1970s (or current) technological standards an object as decidedly non-aerodynamic as this could not have been capable of such precise or speedy maneuvers as were attributed to it.

Also, unlike the micro-terrestrial invasion of Malaysia in the 1970s, there seems to be little indication of any humanoid or alien influence on these devices other than that fact that it was apparently “intelligently controlled” while in flight. Nevertheless, I think we have to look elsewhere for a solution.

How about the boys’ deduction that it was a remote controlled device of unknown extraction? This theory, I must admit, seems to make more sense than that of it being some sort of spacecraft.

In fact, when I first heard about this case, my initial reaction was to assume that this was nothing more than a prank played on naïve teens by “some guy” with a remote control flying saucer, but upon closer inspection of the photographs it does not take an aeronautical engineer to realize that without a rotor or some other driving force — which this gadget seems to be distinctly lacking — there is no way it would ever get off the ground.

There has even been the wild speculation that the device might have been a conscious being akin to those cutesy sentient saucers in the Steven Spielberg produced 1987 opus “*Batteries Not Included.” While even I am skeptical about this premise, let’s look at the “evidence” that may possibly support this conjecture.

Firstly, assuming that the reports are authentic, this device flew with apparent precision even though there was apparently no recognizable propulsion device within the UFO. Secondly, the UFO appeared to be capable of evasive maneuvers and even displayed a desire to defend itself by utilizing brilliant lights and loud noises. Thirdly, like any living being, this “machine” resisted every attempt made to incarcerate it by the teens. None of the above is proof that the thing’s actions were an example of intelligent life, but the thought is intriguing.

Perhaps we’re dealing with a non-terrestrial surveillance device here. Some unknown technology sent from another world or time or dimension or even the ocean’s depths to observe the human race. Who’s to say that the unusual markings on the base of the UFO are not intended to be a message for humanity much like the one we etched into the gold plated disc on Voyager 1 for other citizens of the galaxy to discover.

Of course, there’s one, obvious explanation — that it was all just a hoax. There are some rumors that have circulated suggesting that the Kera UFO was actually a toilet training chamber pot craftily installed with radio components and pieces from a watering can, but if that were the case it not only reflects poorly on the judgment of Kōchi’s director of the Center for Science Education, Mutsuo Fujimoto, but also represents one of the most elaborate hoaxes ever perpetrated (and maintained for the better part of 4 decades) by a group of bored teens.

Casting further doubt on the hoax theory is the 2007 investigation by the JSPS, which confirmed that there was no indication of a prank. And, let’s be frank, if Kera and Agawa phenomena were merely the whimsical follies of bored teenagers and one little girl, one would have to assume that the perpetrators would almost certainly have grown weary of the ruse as they climbed from adolescence into middle age.

The fact remains that this series of all too close encounters may well represent one of the most intriguing, albeit least well known, events in history of ufology… or one of the most outlandish hoaxes ever.

Robert Dean, a long-time figure within the field of research into all things flying and saucer-shaped, maintains that while working with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the 1960s, he learned that NATO had conducted a secret study of the UFO issue. More controversially, Dean says that part of the study demonstrated that, at the time in question, NATO had come to the conclusion that we had four different civilizations – cultures, intelligences, if you will – that were present here on Earth and that were secretly visiting us and even interacting with us.

One of the most interesting conclusions of the report, and which struck a particularly strong chord with Dean, was that one of the groups – of the civilizations or cultures that were here on this planet – was identical with us; or rather, that we were identical with them. And that startling revelation, added Dean, made a vast and profound impression on the people involved in the investigations.

In 1994, Dean gave a lecture before an audience at the Civic Theater, Leeds, England, during which he elaborated upon his knowledge of the human-like aliens said to be present in our very own environment. Dean revealed that so similar to us was at least one race of extraterrestrial that “they could sit next to you in an airplane or in a restaurant in a coat and tie or a dress and you would never know. They could be sitting next to you in a theater like this.”

Most alarming of all, however, were the ramifications that all of the above reportedly caused amongst the highest echelons of NATO. “Back in 1964,” stated Dean, “this was a matter of great concern to the admirals and generals at SHAPE Headquarters in Paris. Some of the discussions which went on in the War Room were kind of frightening and some of them were rather amusing. One officer said: ‘My God, man, do you realize that these [aliens] could be walking up and down the corridors of SHAPE Headquarters and we wouldn’t even know who the hell they were?’”

Robert Dean is not alone in making such amazing claims; and neither are they confined to the heart of NATO.

Now well into her eighties, Marion Shaw worked deep within the Pentagon during the 1950s as a secretary with a high-security clearance. While there, she rubbed shoulders with some profoundly significant and well-known figures in the military arena of the day. She also heard a tale or several eerily similar to those related by Robert Dean.

According to Shaw, she was allegedly involved in the preparation of several classified reports on “flying saucer stories,” one of which referred to deep concerns expressed by the military that very human-appearing aliens had infiltrated certain elements of the U.S. Government. No-one seemed quite sure why, however, since there was apparently no concerted effort on the part of the allegedly human-like extraterrestrials to subvert or jeopardize the orderly, day-to-day operations of the U.S. infrastructure. Rather, it seemed, the aliens were there merely to observe – albeit in an overwhelming clandestine fashion.

We would do well to remember that in a world where popular-culture, TV, movies and the Internet have led most people to perceive aliens as small, diminutive creatures with large heads, huge black eyes, and spindly bodies – however outlandish and outrageous it may seem – our presumed other-worldly visitors may actually look just like us.

Who knows? Maybe some of us are actually them…

And, if the stories are true, then perhaps such infiltration is not limited solely to the world of government. Maybe the field of Ufology has, itself – in a fashion utterly unknown to most of us – been infiltrated by human-appearing, cosmic characters, too. Now that would be a revelation!
