Details on Changes:
New 6 Month and 12 month Plus+ memberships & Direct to Credit Card Billing
Over the years many Plus+ members have shown interest in purchasing their memberships upfront. We’ve also had countless requests for alternatives to PayPal.
We are now excited to be offering 6 and 12 month memberships (these can also be purchased as gift memberships!). These are non-renewing one off purchases and you can checkout via PayPal or 2checkout. Unfortunately 2checkout only supports VISA at this stage but they are working around the clock to bring their Mastercard facilities back online. (It is important to note for these one off memberships you do not need a PayPal account login even if you use the PayPal checkout option.)
IMPORTANT: Veteran Plus+ subscribers must cancel their existing PayPal subscription before signing up for 6/12 month memberships.
Brand New HQ 320kbps Plus+ RSS feed option
As you probably know we are perfectionists when it comes to the quality of our recordings. We’ve experimented for years to find the best variable bit rate for our shows and we’ve found a nice compromise of quality vs file size. For those of us who hate compromise when it comes to sound we now have an alternative Plus+ feed available which contains HQ 320kbps mp3 files of all our shows. You’ll find it on your dashboard along with the regular SQ (standard quality) Plus+ RSS feed.
If you’re unsure of the difference we recommend sticking with the SQ feed. The HQ feed is a much larger file size and is only recommended for use with high quality headphones/speakers.
Unified Plus+ RSS feeds protected by your Username and Password
With our old Plus+ system each user would receive a unique RSS feed. With the New Plus+ we now have a unified RSS that every Plus+ member can use. To access the content within the RSS feed your client (iTunes, Downcast, Doggcatcher etc) will now prompt you for your Plus+ username and password. For veteran Plus+ members your username is your email address.
Veteran Plus+ members will need to log into the new Dashboard and add the new feed to iTunes (or their preferred Podcast app). Your old unique RSS feeds will not be updated with new shows and you will need to start using the new feed.
Plus+ RSS feeds now fully supported in all major iOS and Android Apps (Our in-house app is coming soon!)
Our old Plus+ RSS feeds had bugs in regards to displaying dates correctly, reporting incorrect file sizes, and not displaying artwork. All of these bugs have been resolved with the New Plus+ feeds.
Your Plus+ Dashboard is now integrated with our main site
The old site is still available for veteran subscribers and access will be slowly phased out over the coming months. New Plus+ subscribers can sign in instantly on the new site which features a new integrated Plus+ dashboard.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch with any queries that are beyond the scope of the FAQ.
We hope you enjoy the new site and our upgrades to Plus+. We’ve got a lot more coming this year so keep an eye out for news of the upcoming iOS and Android apps as well as the nearly complete MU Store.
