In an attempt to be clever, a Welsh official may have exposed a government plan to cover up UFO sightings in and around the Cardiff Airport for many years. When asked specific questions about the events, the reply was flippantly delivered in Klingon. Why not just answer the questions? What is the Welsh government trying to hide?
Assembly Member Darren Millar asked Edwina Hart, the Minister of Economy, Science and Transport, these three questions:
Will the Minister make a statement on how many reports of unidentified flying objects there have been at Cardiff Airport since its acquisition by the Welsh Government?
What discussions has the Welsh Government had with the Ministry of Defence regarding sightings of unidentified objects in Wales in each of the past five years?
What consideration has the Welsh Government given to the funding of research into sightings of unidentified objects in Wales?
The response from a spokesperson for the Minister was as follows:
jang vIDa je due luq. ‘ach ghotvam’e’ QI’yaH-devolved qaS.
The response is in Klingon, the language of a fictional Star Trek species, and translates to:
The minister will reply in due course. However this is a non-devolved matter.
Why did Millar ask these questions? His constituents in Cardiff are concerned about a number of unexplained UFO sightings. In June 2008, the experienced three-man crew of a police helicopter spotted and recorded a UFO near the Cardiff International Airport.
Other witnesses came forward, including one who recounted another sighting in the same area in 1996.
More recently, in September 2014 a passenger on a flight landing at the Cardiff airport took a video of a UFO near the plane that both he and his girlfriend witnessed.
There are enough other reports to warrant serious concern by Cardiff residents and their political leader. Why is the Welsh government ignoring their requests for information and insulting them with flippant remarks? Perhaps the people of Cardiff should follow the lead of Germans who have forced their government to agree to release its UFO files to the public.
Perhaps they should make their demands in Klingon.
