Scary Monsters in a Malaysian Toilet and on a Dutch Beach

If you had to choose one place where you could be guaranteed not to encounter any monsters, especially those of the swamp kind, most people would probably pick the bathroom. It’s a location where you’re usually not focused on anything but the task at hand and are generally in a very vulnerable position. Unfortunately, a family in Malaysia can no longer feel safe in theirs after what looked like a huge swamp monster crawled out of the commode and across the floor. If they’re thinking about a place to go to de-stress from this frightening flushing fiasco, they may want to avoid the Netherlands, where another mysterious creature crawled out of the water and across a beach.

Fortunately, the bathroom is a place where people like to take their cellphones, so there’s a video to prove what Zul Hanif Anip of Alor Setar, Malaysia, claimed – a monstrous slimy black sea serpent-like creature climbed out of the bathroom toilet. That much he was certain of.

“It was scary. It came up through the toilet. I think the creature grew up inside the pipe works connected to the toilet hole, because I have checked and there is no entry point for it to have got inside.”

WHAT the creature was is anyone’s guess. If it was some sort of snake or serpent, that huge bulge in its middle may mean it had just finished a meal. After counting all of his children, the thought of what the creature consumed probably gave Zul the creeps and possible convulsions.

“He was about two meters long with a very fat, thick body. I'm not sure if it was a snake or a kind of tidal creature or from the swamp. It's head was very small and it had a short tail, which did not look like a snake.”

Seeing the six-and-a-half-foot swamp creature crawling across the floor, Zul did what any brave homeowner with a family in danger would do … he told his wife to catch it. Being a good husband (but not much of a neighbor), he then helped her take the bagged beast outside and tossed it into the local river.

What was the creature? It looked more like a giant worm than a snake, but the scariest suggestion, especially to those seated on the commode reading about it, would be a giant leech.

Whatever it was, it wasn’t what crawled out of the sea last week on a beach in Julianadorp, the Netherlands. The not-so-brave photographer (What was he afraid of? The thing wasn’t crawling out of his port-a-potty.) didn’t get close enough to identify the creature, which looks like it has long legs, nor to determine if that thing behind it is part of its body or the tail it made in the sand.

If it’s connected to the thing, that makes it look more like a tree than a monster, especially since the short video doesn’t really show it moving. Otherwise, it could be a starfish or some sort of crab. Or something else?

This would be a good time to go somewhere quiet to think about what these creatures might be, but I’ve suddenly lost the urge.
