Welcome to your ultimate guide to using your Mysterious Universe Podcast RSS feed. On this page you'll find instructions and video tutorials on how to add your unique feed to your favourite app on Android or iOS.
Lets get some basics out of the way, or you can skip straight to our video tutorials here.
RSS is short for Really Simple Syndication. It’s a great way to subscribe to a source of information or entertainment, such as a podcast, and get content delivered to you. These sources are called feeds. All podcasts are delivered via an RSS feed.
Members need to login to our site here and copy the feed from their Dashboard.
After login you will to scroll down the Dashboard page until you see three boxes that look like this:
The first box is the "MU Podcasts & MU Plus+ Podcasts - Current Seasons" feed. We like to call it the "Combined Feed" for short. This feed contains all the latest episodes from our MU Plus+ episodes on Tuesdays and our MU Podcast episodes on Fridays. It's updated every time we release an episode and we recommened everyone subscribe to this feed.
Below this box are two more options: "MU Podcasts - All Seasons" and "MU Plus+ Podcasts - All Seasons".
"MU Podcasts - All Seasons" are the Season Feeds for our Friday episodes and "MU Plus+ Podcasts - All Seasons" are the Season Feeds for our Tuesday episodes.
Season Feeds are RSS feeds that only contain the episodes for the selected season. For example, if you choose the Season Feed for Season 15 of MU Podcasts, then you'll only see the episodes for that season in the feed. The feed will never update with any new episodes because that season is complete.
Season Feeds are a convenient way to add older seasons from our back catalogue to your podcast app.
Once you've selected the feed you want and clicked 'Copy to Clipboard' you need to paste that feed into your podcasting app of choice.
Lets use Apple Podcasts on iOS as an example.
1. Open the Apple Podcast app and click on the Library tab along the bottom and select the 3 dots menu in top right corner:
2. Select "Add a Show by URL..."
3. Paste in the feed you copied from your MU Dashboard and tap "Follow".
(click the link to watch the tutorial for that app)
Spotify, iHeart Radio, TuneIN, Goodpods, Castbox, Podbean, Downcast.
If you are seeing that item in your feed it means the feed URL you were subscribed to is no longer active. The first thing you should do is log into your Dashboard, copy one of your feeds, and paste it into your podcasting app.
If this doesn't work then you will need to contact our support staff so that we can take a look at your account.
Seeing the "Insufficient Privileges" can mean one of several things.
- Your paypal subscription expired or was cancelled.
- You were accidentally subscribed to another customer's feed.
- Your feed was blocked due to sharing it with others.
- Your MU membership has expired or been cancelled.
