The obscure and fringe theory that the Middle Ages didn't really exist has been floating around for quite some time. However, the absurdity of the concept has caused us to dismiss it. Nonetheless, could there actually be something to the idea? We confront history and consider the possibility that what we know about the Middle Ages and the Roman Empire is wrong. Perhaps it was the creation of an Italian manuscript dealer, and the catastrophic events of antiquity caused time to become distorted from our modern perspective. Could the whole thing be an elaborate hoax?
