Bigfoot and the New Jersey Drones, Top Psychic Predictions for 2025, More 3-Fingered Mummies Found, UK Apeman and More Mysterious News Briefly

A roundup of mysterious, paranormal and strange news stories from the past week.

One of the top mysteries of 2024 goes out with a bang as it was revealed that two more three-fingered ‘alien’ mummies have been discovered in the Nazca desert of Peru and these have characteristics not seen in the previous discoveries; the mummies have been named Paloma and Antonio and were analyzed by Dr. David Ruiz Vela, the former president of Peru's Medical Association, who announced that both are human-like organs with a brain structure, Antonio has a stab wound in his chest, and Paloma has hair, a first for a Nazca three-fingered mummy; according to Dr. Vela, Antonio’s stabbing “broke his ribs on the left side of his chest, penetrating the chest, abdomen, liver and completely perforating him inside"; these mummies also had different facial features than previous ones and had ear canals, but no visible ears; despite the revelations, skeptics still believe these mummies are elaborate hoaxes. Three fingers are still enough to give a middle one to the non-believers.

Just in time for the Christmas season, psychic spoon-bender Uri Geller weighed in on the biblical Nativity story of a sphere of light – the Star of Bethlehem – hovering over the stable where Jesus was born; Geller believes that bright light gave Jesus the ability to perform miracles and he bases this belief on a similar experience of his own when he was two and living in Tel Aviv; a bright light appeared in front of him and shot a beam into his brain and from that day on he could bend spoons and showed signs of psychic abilities; he claims X-rays show in my frontal cortex an implant shaped like a human embryo which he believes is the center of his power, and he’s convinced Jesus also had one; while he doesn’t compare himself to Jesus, he says both of them receive their powers from aliens. If it’s true, this changes the themes of a lot of Christmas carols.

The Brazilian psychic who calls himself the Living Nostradamus, Athos Salomé, makes us long for the real Nostradamus with his predictions for 2025 which include “2025 will be the point of time when the authorities start to officially declare the existence of ET, offering proofs of microbial life on Mars or other more complicated civilizations”, events that will be met with “strategic Silence” by “some governments like that of US, Russia and China as they hide information with a view of causing a global upset"; however, there will be a lot of noise from organized religions as “All religions, as well as philosophical systems, will find themselves in an unprecedented position to have to cope with this new condition". He also sees more human genetic experiments being revealed in Asia where attempts to create “perfected” people avoid regulations; he also sees a global crisis caused by artificial intelligence, a global energy crisis caused by climate change, and a global security crisis caused by implantable chips. Lots of droning on and on about crises, but nothing on the actual drones?

Yes, the real Nostradamus has some predictions for 2025 and they are as dire as they always are, leading off with “earth shaking”, “rivers overflowing” and “fires and droughts” which most Nostradamus experts interpret to mean more global climate crises; he sees “lights in the sky” which could mean more drones, UFOs and satellites, and predicts “new worlds discovered” which may mean good news for the James Webb telescope and NASA; “cruel wars” and “great powers clashing” means bad news for the rest of us and a good reason to head for those new worlds; “fortunes lost overnight” sounds like a warning to get out of bitcoin soon, especially if his prediction of a “significant cyberattack on global infrastructure” comes true; one ray of good news might an interpretation of "through long war all the army exhausted” to mean an end to the Ukraine-Russia conflict. If it’s any consolation, the Nos has been making these dire forecasts for centuries and we’re still here.

I predict that one day this will be replaced by artificial intelligence.

Mention six-foot-tall ape men running around England and thoughts immediately turn to the Piltdown Man announcement of 1912 which was deemed to be a hoax and not the discovery of the ‘missing link’ in 1953, but this is 2024 so multiple sightings of a human-sized apeman hybrid running on all fours in Cambridge over the past two months is being treated seriously by the media even though none of the witnesses managed to capture the creature in photos or videos; one outlet links the sightings to a recent report that the University of Cambridge carried out the highest number of research procedures on animals of any known institution, including experiments on 51 of the approximately 250 non-human primates kept there for research. No one suspected it was a student, although this is the season for holiday parties and greater-than-usual partying.

Former NASA astronaut Leroy Chiao, who flew on three Space Shuttle missions and lived on the International Space Station, revealed in a recent interview that it wasn’t until he was back on Earth as a private citizen and pilot that he encountered not one but two UFOs earlier this year in August; he said, “I was flying back from Colorado and I just refueled in the panhandle of Texas in my small airplane and I was flying back to Houston. Clear air and I was about 9,000 feet. And suddenly, out of nowhere, these two big, metallic, spherical orbs, one on top of the other about three feet in diameter each, went zipping by the left side of my airplane, right underneath, about twenty feet away”; Chiao said the orbs did not appear on his radar and he received no notice from air traffic control; he speculated that “it’s some kind of military program, a drone of some kind, but, it’s hard to say, right?”. If it’s hard for an experienced former astronaut to identify these drones close up, why should we believe the statements from officials that these and the drones in New Jersey and elsewhere are ‘nothing to worry about’?

Former NASA astronaut Leroy Chiao - if we can't believe him, we can't believe anybody.

The government of Malaysia announced a resumption of the search for Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, which disappeared on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014, in conjunction with Texas robotics company Ocean Infinity on an 18-month "no find, no fee" expedition using Ocean Infinity’s underwater search equipment which utilizes a low-powered Weak Signal Propagation Reporter (WSPR) used by ham radio operators; while they plan to follow MH370’s planned flight path, the company has identified a 5,800 square-mile search zone about the size of Connecticut to search once the plane deviates from that path. If this is successful, the Pacific Ocean will become the world’s largest lost and found.

They haven’t been de-extincted yet but scientists working on bringing back the woolly mammoth have an entire frozen specimen to work with after the fully intact remains of a baby mammoth were found in the permafrost in the Batagaika crater in northeastern Russia where it died and froze more than 50,000 years ago; researchers at the Lazarev Mammoth Museum Laboratory and North-Eastern Federal University say the animal weighed between 240 and 397 pounds and died at one year of age;  while this is the best-preserved mammoth carcass ever discovered, the scientists gave no immediate word on whether it will provide DNA to accelerate the de-extinction of the species. Ironically, the mammoth may come back just in time to see the climate change and starving humans that killed it off the first time.

In its inaugural Art and AI Report, the global insurer Hiscox had 40 artists upload photographs of their faces and then asked the AI to create its own ‘self-portrait’ using the images; Hiscox said the purpose was not to see what AI ‘looks’ like but to illustrate the ethical dilemma the image would create when it asked the artists if they wanted to be compensated for the use of their images; in general, 77% of art collectors and 78% of art enthusiasts said artists should be fairly compensated for their work being used by AI models. It would be more interesting to let AI try and generate a nice self-image using driver’s license photos instead of professional headshots.

According to a new study by researchers at University College London (UCL) and Aberystwyth University, the recent discovery that Stonehenge’s six-ton Altar Stone is from Scotland has led them to propose that because the collection of stones used to build it was brought from distant regions, Stonehenge’s true purpose may have been as a symbol of unity among the diverse peoples living in Britain 5,000 years ago; “It’s not a temple — that has been a major stumbling block for hundreds of years. It’s not a calendar, and it’s not an observatory”, said lead researcher Professor Mike Parker Pearson of UCL in a statement; “The monument could have been an attempt to assert unity, integrating traditions and creating a shared identity among Britain’s early communities”. Is it time to build a world Stonehenge?

An executive order signed by then-President Bill Clinton established a 25-year limit on the 'automatic declassification' of 'government secrets' about, among other things, Area 51, at least according to aviation journalist Jim Goodall who interviewed a 'safety specialist' and US Air Force chief master sergeant from Area 51 who claimed the secrets included "things out there that are literally out of this world… better than Star Trek or anything you can see in the movies"; in 2019, Goodall cast some doubt on whether the release would happen in 2025 because "That veil is pretty thick today. The security around Area 51 is thicker than we've ever seen"; the decision now rests in the lap of the next administration and president-elect Trump, who has already said he will open up files on the Kennedy assignation and UFO X-files. Even if you’ve never cared much about executive orders before, you may want to pay attention to this one.

It looks like 2024 will go down in history as the first year U.S. politicians talked about UFOs and Bigfoot in the same sentence as the mysterious drones seen over New Jersey and other states have forced elected officials to weigh in with possible causes and resolutions, forcing New Jersey state senator Jon Bramnick to issue a statement saying, “Last night I received multiple videos of large drone sightings from citizens. The White House is saying ‘we are not seeing what we are seeing’. Let’s be clear, this is not similar to ‘Big Foot’ sightings, these are clear images”. Bigfoot does not appreciate being dragged into this controversy just because humans can’t take clear pictures with their cell phones.
