About the animal in the cave. Take a look at this picture of a tree sloth. Now think of it hairless.

Apparently that dead creature was a sloth but you have to love how the sun does photo spreads. Glad the show is back and it looks like I'll have to 'invest' in a ds and scribblenauts. Oh and Aaron give your tin foil hat some love and use it to cook damper in it. JFK and Governor Connally and some random guy was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald.

It is interesting these stories about the mars chrononaughts .

The story to me sounds remarkably like one of Phillip K Dicks best books “The three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch” which I suggest all MU listeners pick up and read

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Three_Stigmata...

In this book there are all sorts of transmigrations, using a particular kind of drug “chew-z” it elimates time and space and in the book they pop up in mars at different times.

It is also set on mars in tiny units where they take the can-d to escape the sober realities of life on mars.

There’s also a few other Phillip K dick books that sound remarkably like these mars stories.

Why I bring this up for discussion is the fact, that we seem to believe that its hard to fabricate these kinds of stories from nothing.
Yet here we have tons of science fiction literature, some even turned to film as base material for great story telling.
We ask, why would people tell a story like this and give a 6 hour talk.
Well why would an author spend a whole lifetime writing these novels, without really knowing if they would be a success.

Good point about science fiction authors. Although the obvious difference here is that sci-fi authors never claim/believe their stories are more than fiction.

Come on guys, the Billy Meier “wedding cake” UFO is clearly a model made of a bunch of junk! It's been shown quite a number of times that his photos are fake, especially the wedding cake UFO. You can clearly see that's a model made of x-mas tree balls and a trash can lid! The car in the foreground also clearly looks like a toy.

There are plenty of compelling UFO photos, that we don't need to pay Meier any more attention these days. Maybe he saw something real once, but the rest of his stories and photos are taken from books and elsewhere.

And anyone who insists that these entities are from Orion, or the Pleiades or whatever… we have no idea where these beings are coming from! Or even what they are. I've had contact with them myself throughout my life, and I'm starting to come to the conclusion that these entities and their craft aren't at all what we think they are. They probably are not from some other star far away. They clearly are not humans, and the craft is clearly a physical object, but that's all we know! It's probably much stranger than we can imagine. More and more UFOs seem to be falling into the general paranormal category, along with Bigfoot and ghosts. We may one day find that they are all part of the same phenomenon… not saying they are not real, but they are not of this reality. Only sometimes.

DavidRavenMoon: If people see them and some are actually taken by them… seems a bit silly to say “they are not of this reality”. They may be from another reality, but the fact that they manifest in this reality at all discounts your statement.

This is obviously a complex topic, and I agree with some of your other sentiments. I have a very difficult time accepting Dr. Stephen Greer's latest revelations from the Spain conference. I simultaneously trust that most of the Disclosure Project's witnesses did indeed experience what they describe, and distrust Dr. Greer himself. He seems to have veered into some wacko territory, and my gut instinct is that there is some disinformation seeping in.

The snake with claws – Just try to see the shadow cast by the snake on ground – you would clearly see the absence of shadow of the claw. Someone did a quick job in photoshop

  12. Posted September 25, 2009 at 1:40 am | Permalink

I don't think there should be a shadow from the claw. It's not sticking up towards the sky.. the claw/arm is folded back towards the body of the snake.

  13. rawwool

Even considering it is not sticking out vertically, there seems to be a sufficient vertical component to cast a shadow. Just my 2 cents.

perihelion, I did use the qualifier “only sometimes”. My point is that we are dealing with something we do not understand on such a profound level, that we have to use words like “dimensions” to describe how they can be here one moment, and not another. I did not mean that they do not exist in a solid form. What I mean is that they came somehow pass through what we call reality. This is seen when they move through walls, often taking people with them, and when large solid craft can move at high rates of speed without the usual effects of mass and friction, such as sonic booms.

I whole heartedly agree that it's a complex subject, and Greer (and others like him) is sounding more and more irrational every time I hear him speak. My current view is that these entities are not exactly “aliens” in the sense that Dr. Greer is using. I had always thought they were, but then started thinking more along the lines of Jacques Vallée. They have been here too long and too often to be a mission from some other planet. It makes no sense. Something else is going on. They seem to be concerned with our evolution, especially spiritually. They often impart information to people that is meant to affect society. This has happened to me.

My interactions with them started when I was about 4. Until recently I did not consider any of my experiences as being with “aliens” or having anything to do with UFOs, or more accurately “flying saucers”. A UFO can be anything. I thought it's just something “paranormal”. After my last experience, I realized I was dealing with a vast intelligence and it had many of the hallmarks of an abduction, without the abduction. I have never seen them except when I was very young. This last time I had the usual voice talking in my head, and the stream of images and information, everything known in the Universe, including images of some impending disaster. I was given instructions to write a book about something I was being shown, and that it would “help people”. All I remember is we have to “raise our vibrations”. It was so simple and yet so profound.

When I protested about the difficulty of the task, which included starting a “movement”, it stopped and even though I could remember what I was supposed to write the book about, was prevented from getting up and writing it down, and instead I suddenly became tired and fell asleep. When I awoke an hour or so later, I could remember the incident, and that was it. The information shown to me was blocked from my memory. More recently when a friend and myself saw a disk shaped object in the sky while he was driving on a highway, I got out my digital camera to take a photo, but then was convinced that there were no batteries in the camera! So I put it down. After we couldn't see the object anymore, I realized that I did indeed have batteries, since I was using the camera a few hours earlier. This is a profound point. They have complete control over our will. How would they even know we were looking at them and that I wanted to take a photo? Think of all the people on that highway that day.

This made me revisit many other odd events in my life, including one that saved my life when I was about 8, and that these beings have total control over us and everything else, and basically know what we are doing and even thinking, all the time.

So what can this be? I find it hard to believe it's aliens, unless they are so evolved that they have become a different form of life (sometimes I half jokingly think that grays are evolved from mushrooms). I'm thinking more that they are part of a different reality (and I mean that word in the context of a “dimension”), or a different part of this reality that we don't understand or even know about … they can pop in and out our existence with little effort. They don't appear to be governed by the laws of physics and time as we know them. Or at least they have learned how to move past those laws.

And what are their motivations? We have been writing about beings from the heavens for as long as we have been here. For the first time in my life I am giving a lot of credence to the old fables and mythologies, and even religious ideas. I think we just didn't understand it then, and we still don't. But now they are space aliens. I also think the craft are real objects.. and once again, it's something we haven't a clue about. We can only propose ideas based on our own experiences. We can't come up with something strange enough to even come close.

There was a case where someone asked a gray why they made themselves appear to be aliens, and the gray said we couldn't handle seeing them as they really are! It would freak people out. More so than aliens?

Then you have the “trickster” legends, and the shape shifters, etc. Probably more of the same type of thing.

Ideas like Greer are proposing are way too simplistic. It's like trying to sum up God as an old man sitting in a cloud somewhere. Not even close.

I have no answers, or even theories. I'm waiting for the next experience, so I can ask some questions.

I agree that the photo is suspect. The story clearly states that the woman beat the snake to death, but the snake in the photo appears to be alive. It is not just lying limply on the ground, but seems to have living tension keeping parts of it off the ground.

Love season 2 so far. My only gripe – which is extremely extremely minor – is with the reading of the stories. Specifically when Ben & Aaron split them up (ex: Disappearing Girl story).

I get drawn into the story/report a little more when one person is reading it instead of the switch at each “paragraph” from Ben to Aaron or vice versa. The narrator switch just feels a little jarring and “takes me out of the moment” a little.

It might just be me b/c as I listen, in my head I'll think “OK, that is Aaron talking” or “That's Ben speaking” as I'm getting used to telling your voices apart

That said, I like the conversations between you two about each story/report in the show.

    Smell of space:

“'When you repressurize the airlock and get out of your suit, there is a distinct odor of ozone, a faint acrid smell,' Jones told SPACE.com, adding that the smell is also similar to burnt gunpowder or the ozone smell of electrical equipment. 'It's not noticeable inside the suit. The suit smells like plastic inside.'”

Thanks for the feedback. We just thought we'd try that out for that particular article as the narrator's parts and the witness' parts were so sequential.

Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying your podcast. Very recently stumbled upon it while looking through “science” programming in the iTunes store, and I am quite glad for the discovery. As someone who has always had a great fascination for all things eerie and paranormal, the informative and entertaining way you present the content (without being altogether biased) is really a welcome change from the in-your-face broadcasting style of many out there. Listening to each episode is like meeting up with some old mates around a campfire every week, eager to share their ghost stories with one another. It's a fun, thought-provoking, and comforting experience, all at the same time.

    Keep up the mysterious work.

I think that is pretty weird that the bible says that snakes were punished by god and lost their legs. Snakes evolved from reptiles that had limbs, this much is already theorized, in fact some have small stubs where the limbs once existed
