I’d never heard of the story of the man on Somerton Beach, but I was amazed at how similar many details of the case sound to a series of murders that happened in San Bernardino in the 1910′s, as detailed by Walter Bosley and Richard Spence in their recent book, “The Empire of the Wheel.” Bosley and Spence hypothesize that there may be mystical or occult underpinnings to the murders, and that they, like the death of the man on Somerton Beach, may have had ties to espionage as well. It’s an intricate and fascinating read, and seems so similar to the Somerton Beach mystery –not just in terms of the details but also in terms of the overall “vibe” attached to the case — that I can’t help but wonder if they are connected.

Somerton Man: Great story guys! I think maybe a case of stolen identity, or a spy replacing another rogue agent, the two books with the pages ripped out can’t be a coincedence!

It may be off subject but I have to say. The fans of mysterious universe are like one big happy family. the comments are never argumentative or flavored with a political agenda etc. The comments are actual comments to the subject matter discussed in the podcast and the replies are kind and informative. it’s beautiful. MU fans are the best people online :)

I agree completely. I think it was a great help to be able to actually meet in person many of the fellow fans, either in Minneapolis or New York. You get reminded that behind the text appearing on your screen there’s an actual person like you, so you do your best to be polite :)
