First off, thanks for going easy on me, mates ;)

Second, re. ‘mental contact with SI’s’ and how there’s a danger of cerebral hemorrhages, I have to admit that it immediately reminded me of Nick’s Final Events. In it there’s a chapter where photographs of test subjects that had apparently died of cerebral hemorrhage after attempting to communicate with non-human intelligences.

one of my issues with a lot of religious doomsday prophecies is they use the number 666 when there is evidence thats not the mark of the beast. 616 may be the true number and refer to emperor caligua.

Just a few random thoughts re. panspermia causing life here on earth (you’re all so very welcome!):
    1. While the idea of there being life on other planets is interesting, it seems a little pointless to me to hypothesize that alien life was in any way responsible for life on earth. Even if it was, that leads you into a veeeery hypothetical and unprovable train of thought, e.g. if that life came from another planet, where did the life on that other planet come from, etc., etc.?
    2. More interesting and more likely, I think, is the study of how life could’ve “spontaneously” come into being here on Earth, or more generally what conditions favor the genesis of life. The Miller-Urey experiment proved that amino acids probably could’ve just HAPPENED here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miller%E2%80%93Urey_experiment
and Abiogenesis is some pretty cool stuff:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenesis

Forgive all the stuff from wikipedia, but I don’t have time to research this super indepth right now…my 9 to 5 would never allow it :-)
    3. Even if some sort of bacterial life came from elsewhere and wound up here, it’s the conditions that existed on early Earth that’re still worth looking at–these are what would have continued to shape and influence that initial “spark.” To my mind–while this isn’t terribly scientific–if adaptation and evolution are capable of shaping life to so great an extent, it seems more reasonable than not to assume that random mixtures of gooey chemicals right here on our lovely planet could’ve randomly birthed adorable little proto-amoebas (aw!).

Sorry for the rant! Love all you folks.
